  1. I think a number of folks are potentially underrating the contribution Rogers can make. He is another guy who is very smart and gas superior athleticism - him getting carries in 2022 symbolizes that. He got hurt early enough last year that he should be 100% by the time camp starts. With his ex QB brain, he’s probably been taking mental reps too. I think the new coaching staff is going to be surprised learning what they have in him. With Sinnott in fold, what is interesting now are the different skillsets at play and the mixing and matching you can do in 12 personnel
  2. This LT search is starting to remind me a bit of the 2019 offseason when we brought Donald Penn in at the end of July. Perhaps it ends up taking that long to bring in a veteran who wants to avoid a chunk, if not all of training camp
  3. The first sentence is statistically an unfair statement to make. There aren't many tackles with 36+ inch arms period. If one is to succeed in the NFL at tackle with 33 inch arms, that player's technique has to be very good to excellent because the margin for error for making a technical error is lower.
  4. Definitely. If Leno or Bakhtiari get a clean bill of health, I'd add one of those guys too. Worst case, McDermott can go to the PS. The dude has sat on PSs his whole career
  5. Well, we got our post draft cut at tackle. It is Conor McDermott, longtime veteran backup JAG tackle, who got a few starts for the Patriots last year after they benched Trent Brown. He was with Bobby Johnson in Buffalo in 2019. He put up a 67 PFF grade in games played last year. He's definitely a guy worth bringing to camp if they don't like anyone else out there.
  6. I feel #100 was the perfect tradedown spot. Last pick on Day 2 - very opportune time for a team to move up and snag a guy before teams digest Day 2 and prepare for Day 3
  7. Slater is one example. I can’t name many tackles with 33 inch arms who are studs at the position in the example. Year after year, there are college tackles with short arms who the draft community pushes as tackles in the pros and, more often than not, they move inside. Alijah Vera Tucker is a great recent example of this.
  8. Yep and I was thinking about that yesterday. If you look at how things shook out, there was a clear dropoff after #76 - no more of the “this guy could’ve gone in the 2nd but fell to the 3rd” guys after Elliss. That being said, Zinter, Haynes or Goncalves would’ve been nice to have Also the 5th round pick swap mattered - we lost out on Mohamed Kamara as a result
  9. It’s not just the strength but his college tape was not good either - there is definitely a major technique gap he has to overcome too. He is a guy who probably needs to sit on practice squads for a while. Given his arm length and lack of refinement in his game, he is likely a guard and he probably needs to do it in a zone heavy scheme.
  10. Yep. I wouldn’t be surprised if he is moved before the season. If you have a sense that he is not going to fit, it may be better to cut your losses now and get a 4th or a 5th vs nothing down the road. He is only going to continue to depreciate if his poor play on tape continues. He is going to have his fans around the league who will attribute his struggles more to the coaching at this point
  11. I had heard (forget where or on what pod) that they liked Blake Fisher. It must have been a surprise to them that he was snatched up where he was.
  12. You may not be able to do both things if you are talking about giving capital away for Aiyuk. The same draft comp may preclude a trade for someone like a Bolles or Kolton Miller and, if I have to give up draft comp, I am getting the left tackle. The friendship may or may not help. To the outside eye, it seems that the Hurts-AJ Brown relationship deteriorated last season after they had been friends for years. It could also cause chemistry issues gelling with the other receivers.
  13. I think it is this guy vs Holmes for a roster spot
  14. Same. Daniels very likely does not make the team. Small and so raw
  15. They are not going to move Cosmi back. He’s an elite guard and his shorter arms hurt him a bit at tackle. In your scenario, Stromberg would never start over Wylie at guard
  16. I think Coleman was excellent value in the 3rd. Even if he becomes a guard, you are working with one with elite athleticism. Kind of like getting a longer more athletic Cosmi but in the 3rd round. If this were to happen and we retain Cosmi, you have the KC model of a fantastic interior with the question marks being on the edges
  17. Interesting nugget from Thor Nystrom on Galdi’s podcast was that Coleman played hurt last year. It could help explain why his play fell off a bit vs 2022
  18. Good news is that the 2025 draft appears to have some tackles. We need that, a premier EDGE, a CB1 and an elite offensive weapon.
  19. I don’t have much hope of that this go around. If you look at the teams that drafted tackles, I don’t see it happening. In cases where the picks are replacing vets, those vets are already FAs in Peat and D. Smith. The one possibility may be Orlando Brown Jr in Cincy with the drafting of Mims. It’d be a $26M dead cap hit if they cut him or traded him though. The other possibility is Mims beats out Trent Brown and they cut him. However, he was there for the taking this offseason and we clearly didn’t want him and his baggage
  20. Isn’t Mike Davis supposed to be a physical outside corner? I thought Samuel Jr has been their slot CB
  21. We currently have 2 above average caliber starters in Cosmi and Biadasz. Wylie and Allegretti are below average. Lucas, if he were to start, would be one of the worst starting tackles in the league. You can scheme some around it but it is going to be a major issue even if you pick up one of these veteran tackles off the street Leno is not as bad as people think he was. Yes he got absolutely owned by Thibodeaux but he played decent football against most other teams. 73 PFF grade and gave up 3 sacks on the season per them.
  22. I think the sack to pressure thing is overblown. Keim spent several pods mentioning NFL scouts don’t see it as an issue. Something overblown by the stats people
  23. I know nothing about hip surgery. How long does it take a mid 30s pro athlete to recover from it? Smith is a weird dude/has a screw loose/sucks Peat has fallen off a cliff and his heralded season last year resulted in a 60 PFF grade Turner is a backup swing tackle JAG at this point It is not unfair to say Lucas is better than all three at this point We have to pray Leno can heal up and wants to come back here
  24. I thought I heard it was Raheem who loved Penix
  25. If you are arguing that Roseman had a stronger base to work from, I kind of get that argument. However, one can easily ask why they didn’t move back at certain spots to pick up more Day 3 picks this year to get more players in now to build that stronger base. It is especially disappointing given the consistent discovery of long term starters in Day 3 is what Peters is known for. I heard this stupid argument from Keim that must have come from this FO that they didn’t want too many picks because it could cause issues with resigning that many guys to second contracts. That is 1) inherently arrogant because it assumes you are going to have an amazing hit rate and 2) shortsighted because if guys perform and you can’t keep them, you trade them for picks or get comp picks, which you can continuously recycle like how Howie has
