  1. Buckle up GC. It is going to be longer buddy. I think we are looking at 5 years. This team has no prime assets, whether they be picks or players to work with. At least OKC had SGA and all the picks from the PG and Russ trades to start from This crew will need a few years to scoop up quality assets while it tanks and serves as TARP for other teams. At least the timing of dumping salary is right. The new CBA is going to make teams more motivated than ever to move toxic contracts.
  2. **** Tommy, **** Ted and **** Beal. **** the first two guys for giving this guy a supermax, a NTC and a trade kicker to boot and not trading him when his value was at its max. Absolutely ridiculous and only bottom of the barrel franchises do this sort of thing. **** Beal for forcing his way to the Suns and dictating the overall trade (taking on CP3 instead of Ayton, who they could have flipped to another team for a return). I was never a big Beal fan even at his best. He never captured my heart as a fan the same way Gil, Caron and Wall did. There was a genuineness to those guys, for better or worse, that Beal has never had. There was also an alpha element to those guys that Beal never had. I always felt he had a fakeness to him where he was trying to have this image as a clean, community first, team first loyal player while having his wife and Quinton Mayo serve as his mouthpieces to voice his complaints through the media. There has always been a disingenuous and passive aggressive nature to him. I'm glad he's gone and that he has outed himself for who he truly is. Glad he is not going to be able to hold the franchise record for points and hopefully he is not having his jersey retired. Hopefully, he is an afterthought when discussing this pathetic franchise's history. Would a don like Pat Riley have taken this from Beal and Bartelstein? Probably not. At the same time, I see where this new FO was operating from. Once the new league year kicks in, due to the changes to the CBA, it was going to become harder to move Beal because teams a certain level over the luxury tax would have to be closer in terms of the salary match vs now. Furthermore, given his history over the past couple years, if he was pacing toward having that type of trajectory a third straight year, that may have also impacted the appetite for teams to take him on. Given the handcuffs this group was dealt with, I think what happens with KP, Kuzma and the draft are going to better indicators for how to judge this FA. Finally, something I've seen only Hollinger mention is that by making this a three team deal and moving CP3 to LAC or another team, we may be able to create a significant trade exception (Hollinger mentioned $17M). They got a $6M exception in the Rui trade, which gives them the ability to take on a bad salary close to $30M to get the party started with eating bad contracts. I wonder what they could get from teams for eating contracts like Ben Simmons's. The Nets, as one example, have a lot of first round picks coming their way.
  3. With LeBron's window closing, I don't see why LeBron for Beasley, Bamba and #17 can't happen. LeBron and CP3 are very close friends and have always wanted to play together Terance Mann + Bones Hyland + salary filler like Plumlee and Covington would be interesting
  4. Worst comes to worst and they can't get anything meaningful for him, he is a good guy to keep around. Look at what he did for the OKC team in the bubble - the guy is an excellent mentor
  5. I would love to get Simons and #3 back from Portland. Don’t think Beal is enough but maybe adding in some mix of #8, Gafford and Avdija gets it done. I’d rather hold on to #8 though. Grab Scoot or Ausar at #3 and Black at #8
  6. I know Miami is the most talked about trade partner and a package around Herro, Jovic and #18 isn’t bad but I would rather they get a package from the Warriors around Poole, Kuminga, Moody and a pick or two. I really think Kuminga has star potential and is already an efficient offensive player. I also think Poole can turn around perception of himself in DC. It is obvious something was rotten in GSW last year and, while it is always easy to blame the youngsters, it is not great organizational culture when 4 of the guys are close buddies with the coach and GM. I also think Draymond is to blame some. I also hope they can get any value for KP and Kuzma. I would also explore trading Deni. Dude has a year left on his deal and this team should not be the ones paying him $20M a year during a rebuild. I think they can get a first back for him. Lastly, the Suns are interested in Monte Morris. Please trade him for a few seconds Keep Taj Gibson and add a couple other vet minimum older guys to help steer the culture
  7. It'd be foolish to trade Chase unless someone is offering a first round pick next year. Per the reports we have gotten, the guy is looking quite explosive again. If the guy doesn't do the stutter step BS and rushes in scheme with the rest of the DL, he should put up at least his rookie year numbers. I have to think the combo of seeing Sweat having success rushing in pattern with Allen, this year being a contract year and the failure of 2021 may mean some changes to the way Chase plays this year
  8. Yep. RR has had his hands tied the past couple offseasons and that hasn’t been talked about enough.
  9. Yep, the guy from ND. It is easier to have smaller LBs when you a run a 4-3 as you are protected by 4 down linemen any given day. The king size LBs are more applicable to a 3-4. I remember all the beat guys were adamant a couple years ago that we would never draft Zaven Collins had he made it to our spot
  10. The ironic thing is Hudson’s college position was more similar to a buffalo nickel vs a true LB. It’s not just that he is small for a LB but he has very short arms too By coincidence, he’s the guy that Sweat has been comped to given the body type
  11. I don’t think an older vet like Kwon Alexander or Zach Cunningham would play teams but Rashaan Evans might.
  12. They must like what they saw from the other corners enough to let Dantzler go. Getting $2.7M back helps.
  13. I would be fine with any of these 4 guys. I think this DL would help with Kwon’s run D but it’s not like the Jets’ and Saints’ DLs are bad
  14. Given all the young guys we have, having a future HOF leader type who is a coach on the field will be a force multiplier. Tyler Smith attributes some of his rookie success to playing next to Peters.
  15. I would be happy with Jason Peters. I get Ray Brown circa ‘05 vibes from him. He actually has a chance to come here given the Juan Castillo connection. Doubt he wants to go through a TC though. Risner is not a fit here. Don’t think be has the athleticism EB is looking for in his guards
  16. Ehh disagree with you on Mayer at #16. Would have been pissed if that happened. Given how things went down, the one that would have been close for me is if Washington had made it to their comp pick. I wasn't a big Washington fan but, if he had fallen there, I would've been a bit pissed if they had passed on him. I didn't love the Day 3 guys either and think they would've been marginal upgrades, at best, over the guys already on the roster. However, I respect your opinion and perspective!
  17. I’m with you. I like Hudson but he is small. Not just height and weight but, more importantly, he has < 30 inch arms. Don’t think he is going to be able to shed consistently and that length is going to hurt him in coverage vs TEs
  18. What you are not accounting for is that every single OL who is projected to make the OL has position flex. That is a major difference vs last year where Norwell and Turner were purely guards (yes Turner supposedly could play center too but I don’t think he ever took an NFL snap there) and Roullier was purely a center. You now have 4 guys who can play tackle at NFL level between Leno, Wylie, Lucas and Cosmi Wylie and Gates are proven NFL starters at guard and play LG if needed. If Paul and Charles suck, I don’t know why you can’t just move Gates to LG and start Stromberg. The center depth is better with Gates, Stromberg and Larsen vs Roullier, Larsen and Schweitzer. You at least now have a young body that has not been through the ringer injurywise Again, I think they are one guy away from me being more comfortable with the line but they are definitely better off vs last year
  19. Perhaps this rule change is the impetus to do so. I am fine with one of these top spring league QBs - I keep suggesting Ta’amu because he has had a couple stints with EB in KC and was also here briefly. I also like the traits with the size, mobility and NFL arm. No one is likely picking Fromm up off a PS unless they get desperate.
  20. They may have and decided he is not a fit. Andy/EB value athletic guards for their scheme and Risner is not that. Risner is more like a rich man’s Norwell…a strong guy who doesn’t move well laterally. For all the question marks, Paul, Cosmi, Charles and Daniels are all very athletic guards I’m more interested in Jason Peters for a number of reasons and, given Castillo’s relationship with him, having coached him in Philly and Chicago, they could potentially land him. However, doubt he signs with a team until toward the end of camp
  21. They have carried 3 QBs on the roster throughout Rivera’s tenure. Carrying 2 with one on the PS would deviate from what Rivera has done. Furthermore, this is a franchise that has had the 3rd QB play in every one of Rivera’s seasons here
