Welcome to the Washington Commanders K.J. Henry EDGE, CLEM

What is the point of drafting rotation upside guys in the middle rounds when you can go sign an Efe Obada type for the minimum? -
Props to you season ticket guys. FedEx is the worst stadium experience I've had, whether pro or college games

The FA cupboard is pretty bare at this point. Cameron Fleming is one of the final guys out there who would add to the mix here. May be able to play a passable starting RT, which could help move Wylie inside.

I wouldn't be surprised if the next administration passes on Jamin's 5th year option. I believe it's going to be above his market value. He gets paid between Holcomb and Okereke money if he were a free agent today if I were to guess

2023 NFL Draft Watch and Post Thread - The Hangover Special
method man replied to KDawg's topic in The Stadium
The one that gets me is trading up for KJ Henry and giving up that 6th round comp pick. Felt unnecessary. Yes, every DE is a FA after this year. However, finding a depth edge guy like Henry can wait until next year. Wish they'd stayed in their spot and taken To'o To'o, Pappoe or Dennis. Would have loved to have taken Voorhees with the 6th round comp pick and redshirted him. -
I just don't think there are many situations left in the NFL where there is a GM who can survive multiple coaches and, in many cases, even if they have that authority, the owner tends to be a powerful force in that organization. That is what make the NFL quite different from the NBA where there are a lot of powerful GMs who are the bosses of their organizations (Daryl Morey, Sam Presti, Pat Riley, Rob Pelinka, etc) Mickey Loomis, Brian Gutekunst and Jason Licht are the only three guys I can think of. None of these guys to me have a presence in their orgs like a Pat Riley or Daryl Morey

Maybe. This roster is now full of choir boys. If something were to happen, the Ravens would be the instigators

He probably did meddle in 2021 too. What has been reported is only a fraction of the meddling he has done over the years. Let’s blame WJ3 on him It’s not a healthy long term setup but I could see Harris having a reported or unreported senior football consultant who advises him this season and has influence behind the scenes. There would also be something of an FO vacuum if Harris fires Rivera early in the season. I certainly would not want lame ducks in Mayhew and Hurney making decisions

Both guys were tackles at NDSU. To your point, Radunz was tried out as a tackle but the Titans shifted him inside and they list him on the depth chart as a guard, where he has struggled as well. The difference is that Mauch is penciled in from the start as a guard. My point still holds. Take a look at this list of NDSU draftees - I don't see anyone who has really outperformed their draft position. All of these guys have, at best, performed to their draft position (such as Joe Haeg) but most of them are underperformers it seems You're probably right on Martin's role ultimately. I had heard talk about him as a single high on podcasts, which is why I threw it out there. What gets me is that they supposedly want Curl playing BN less due to the wear and tear but Martin is even smaller.

If Quan can be a true single high free safety, I think taking him in the second is worth it. We haven’t had one of those guys since arguably ST21. These guys are not easy to find. On Mauch, you have to consider the level of competition he was facing. NDSU is the Alabama of their league and they get all the best players. For comparison sake, Dillon Radunz was a predraft darling who was also taken in the second round who has been a bust for the Titans.

With Wynn off the market, Risner is interesting but a guy that interest me a lot is Jason Peters. At 40, the guy was still a good player for the Cowboys last year (over 70 PFF rating). He is probably not a fulltime starter and don't think he wants to go through training camp at this age. We do have a valuable connection to him in Juan Castillo - he has coached Peters twice in Philly and then recently in Chicago

Wonder what the ranking is if you add someone like Isaiah Wynn

Fromm is crap. I hope Ta’amu gets a chance. I admire the way he has grinded it out in the minor leagues and worked on his weaknesses. His big knock was his processing ability, which has clearly gotten better. The guy has NFL size, an NFL arm and is mobile Supposedly his team interviews were weird too with a lot of unnatural scripted answers

Kalen DeBoer has been good for him. I think he should have come out this year. He would have had a great opportunity to be a mid to late 1st round pick
-
Of the guys on that list outside of Williams/Maye, I like Penix the most. Issue is that guy is a walking injury
-
I think a saving grace is the NFL knows we need to start winning asap to win the fanbase back and to grease things for Harris. That might help lessen the blow of a penalty
