Honest question, do you have a harder time watching football after witnessing this abomination of a franchise?

For me it's very disheartening to see other teams execute basic football fundamentals while the Redskins poop all over each other on national TV.

The effort..has anyone witnessed a professional football team give up like the Redskins have?

Hey everyone, this play is called the Haynseworth!

Yes it really does, it's sickening to see a glimpse of good things from this team every year, only to be over ridden by their disaster. We all get excited after a showing like the Jags game, only to see what this team really is the next few weeks. We are the 2nd worst team in the NFL and it is getting harder every week to get excited about anything from this team, especially when you see this from an entire D line.

This is truly a Jim Haslett led Defense and his Defenses are the worse to ever play the game of football!

Yep. What makes it worse is that I've never seen such a cluster **** of an organization get so much press. If we are going to continue to suck just be irrelevant like the Raiders and Jags. I am embarrassed to be a Redskins fan quite frankly and I don't mind letting it be known.

Edit: What really sucks is watching the Ravens being able to continuously win no matter the distraction. That realty irks me.

Not at all.  I love Football too much to stop watching (for ANY reason).

What does upset me is to watch a team that should beat people by a commitment to the Run & Play Action Passing, try to throw 40 times a game when its not how our team was constructed!

Let's accept who we are, & enjoy watching 21-17 Football.

Yeah, I'm reaching my limit on how much more of this I can stand.  I did quit watching football for a couple of years during the Norv reign.  My passion is definitely not what it was and I haven't bought any Redskins merchandise in over a year.  It's definitely not fun.  In fact, it's pretty depressing.  I don't know why I continue to watch.

I am numb. I really almost for the first time didn't order the ticket, waited until week one was over, then got a bargain. I don't spend time watching all programs about the game, I don't watch other games, I no longer do FF, and really I don't get upset any more about the Skins. ES is my friendly place, where I come to commisurate with like minded long time fans. The Losing is really numbing at this point, I have a hard time getting up or pumped up for a play now, because I know disaster is just a play away.

The team looks like a highlight reel of Football Follies.

Oh, very much so. Consistently, year after year, it sucks all NFL enjoyment out of me. Here it is the 4th week of the NFL and I'm basically done with it for the year. I may catch some part of a game here & there, but I have no intention of setting aside my valuable time on a Sunday/Monday night to watch this team.

It's embarrassing to be seen wearing the team apparel...

Oddly, no. Perhaps fantasy football is part of the reason. I still enjoy the hell out of football because of the very nature of the game (and I always like a good underdog, which the Skins seemingly ALWAYS are).

The beauty of the sport, too, is that any team can win any given Sunday. We've seen turningpoints in seasons. We've seen a 3-6 Redskins team go on an amazing run to the playoffs. Anything can happen. Only 1 team can win it all.

Last night, I was bummed but not angry. I know that by next game kickoff, I'll have the same feelings of excitement that I always do.

I'm enjoying professional football less now than ever before, but think its more of the overall NFL experience with the rule changes, slow pace, announcers that take it upon themselves to make social stands by not saying a team nickname, rules handcuffing defense, emphasis on player "safety" etc.

I think I may have run out of likes just for this thread.  Everything you guys said, is the way I feel.  Combine our suckage with the NFL rule changes and the wussificatoin of the game, makes me enjoy football less and less. In years past, my only connection to continue watching any NFL games was fantasy football.  I ran a league for 22 years.  This is my second year not doing FF and now I have nothing to look forward to.  Like others, I think I'm done for the year.  I'll turn the games on and peek at our game, but I'm not immersing myself in it any more.  I got better things to do.

I stopped watching other teams, too. I love the redskins, and have other things going on. Ive only seen them make the playoffs three times in the 26 years Ive been alive(been seriously following the team since 2002). Its not that im used to it by now, i seriously dont know any different.

I have my redskins hoodie on today thats close to 10 years old. Id like some good news for a change from a billion dollar franchise.

From 2007 through 2012, I watched every single game I could. I watched Todd Collins roar through the final weeks of the 2007 season, making me instantly love him. (I also admit that I was a Colt Brennan fanboy back in the day.) In 2009, I watched the Redskins have a complete meltdown, burned into my eyes with the Kareem Moore interception-fumble-touchdown that lost our game to the Saints.

To begin the new decade and supposedly new era of Mike Shanahan, I saw glorious moments with the Packers and Giants games, and clown car moments like the Detroit junk. In 2011, I watched us beat down the Giants for the first game of the season, and then proceeded to watch as Sexy Rexy turned over every last chance we had to win. (Don't get me started on John Beck.)

In 2012, I watched RG3 and Alfred Morris lift the team onto their backs and climb a rainbow, and in the first three games of 2013, I watched as that rainbow vanished, and they plummeted to the muddy earth. I have not watched a single game by any team in its full length since, and I'm growing more and more certain that it will stay that way for years to come.

Long story short, the roller coaster drained me, and though I am still a football fan and likely always will be, I can't be bothered to watch a full game.
