hail2skins
Just hate hearing news of people dying too young, even if 72 is close to the current US male life expectancy. RIP Mort

@DCGoldPants
Mort represented a golden era of ESPNs NFL coverage when they had reporters who were more about the facts and less about opinions, being loud, and obnoxious. I miss that ESPN and his reporting. 5

Fergasun
RIP to one of the best. I swear he had Dallas connections, but won't hold it against him. Not sure if it was Mort, but I swear, I saw him on a TV appearance lately, and he didn't look good. Not sure, but I just assumed he was battling cancer. Am I just hallucinating? Cool Hwhip
Hate to see this. Didn't agree always with he had to say, but he was still one of the better ones. Thoughts are with his family and friends.

Koolblue13
Chris "in the Morgue" Mortensen. Last of the old schoolers and the end of an era. That sucks.
philibusters
That is a bummer. I kind of associate Chris Mortensen and the late John Clayton with ESPN football reporting during the aughts.
