I mean, go on an AMERICAN cruise.  IE, a gigantic vessel that carries 4,000+ white midwesterners, all of whom go on a cruise every year and none of whom ever see the ocean outside of that one week per year.  Said vessel will have unlimited soda, a casino, and will serve lobster exactly one time.

Yeah I’ve been on the big cruises. I prefer the smaller ones. This cruise only has about 150 people on it. We will be on it to sleep and that’s it. It doesn’t have all the extra stuff.

Don't black people suffer from diabetes at a disproportionate rate compared to whites? I think heart disease is more white culture. 🤔

Idk I don’t have experience with either cause I don’t eat **** food as a normal way of life

Anyways, back on topic, I think "woke" and "socialism" are terms that the right has rendered meaningless from their original use and now just mean "things we don't like" but have the added benefit of being words that don't have the direct negative connotation of, for example, "a government policy of bullying gay people" "banning books" and "not teaching the parts of American history where we did bad things."

Just like "cancel culture" is a thing only practiced by the left and, when the right does the exact same thing, it is acceptable and called "voting with your wallet."

I agree with this.  The right does a masterful job of grabbing terms and using them derisively and making people afraid of them.

The same think Reagan did with the term liberal in the 1980s.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't need to be aware of history or of anyone's struggles to be a decent, polite and nice human being. I am, but that is neither here nor there. Just be nice. Be respectful. It really isn't hard to do at all.
If what they do isn't your thing, then move the **** on down the road and go do YOUR thing.

By and large, the people who insist on "freedom" are the most likely to define freedom as "whatever I like and believe, because if you don't think the same way, I can't handle it."

I considered that distinction, but that's not called being woke it's called being a decent person. Not mutually exclusive.  Woke considers the awareness of history etc aspect, by definition.

Woke = aware

"Woke Agenda" = made-up bull**** by right-wingers on their crusade to render Democratic/liberal political terminology into a catch-all for anything they feel can rile up their conservative base. See also: "CRT," "Black lives matter," "Antifa"...

Even Walter White understood what "woke" was meant to convey, and not how conservatives have redefined it.

African American adults: 60 percent more likely than non-Hispanic white adults to be diagnosed with diabetes by a physician. In 2019, non-Hispanic blacks were 2.5 times likely to be hospitalized with diabetes and associated long-term complications.

Don't help whites appropriate black health issues as their own lol...plus, "**** food" is far, far cheaper than healthy food, so those in the lower socio-economic groups are gonna tend to eat **** food because they can't afford to eat anything else. And that lower socio-economic group is gonna be made up dis-proportionally by people of color.

*And yes, folks, that ^^^ is considered being "woke" lol...

I am a Democrat who does not consider myself woke.  I tend to have a negative impression of the term "woke".  Below is my understanding of it.   Its almost entirely negative, but it may give the wrong impression.   I have friends that I consider woke and I definitely consider them good people

I think of woke people as having on lenses that focuses their attention on identity traits like race, gender, sexual orientation and the like.   They tend to apply morality more at a group level than at an individual level.  For example, you apply affirmative action based on race, not an individual.  There are tends to be a lack of material analysis (socio-economic analysis) in my image of a stereotypical woke person.   My stereotypical woke person is middle to upper middle class, occupying a somewhat privileged socio-economic position (I don't think as blue collar working class or poor people as being woke).  There is also a social element to being woke.  A comradery with other woke people.   Thus a lot of wokesters doing a lot of their activism on social media.
