well. Context matters

when one person says the actual candidate for one party has a problem with his age and ability to move, that won’t play well with the general eldctorate

and you go “well what about the last guy, he was old”, especially when he’s a nominee but not the official candidate of the other party, yeah that’s whataboutism.

Instead of addressing the point you literally went what about someone else

(trumps age is an issue too which makes it even more silly)

edit: I suppose I said mentioned trump winning because of this issue so, maybe everything I said above is irrelevant.

but generally when someone points out an issue, and the other persons respond is to point to someone else, we call that whataboutism, no?

Ok, it’s whataboutism. It’s also all true.

It’s the appearance the general public seems to have of him

unless your blinders are so big you can’t admit that his rallies are different

it is ok, by the way, to like Biden but also think there are concerns.

or to not like trump, but think he may have an advantage in an area with the general public

and of course, as I said, it’s not what I think, it’s what seems to be thought by the general public, that matters.

I said it’s a concern. At least twice.  I in fact said it his his biggest concern if you actually read. I just don’t think Trump can make it into a huge issue given is own infirmaties.

I think its the appearance that a segment of the public have about him, but those folks think he’s honest and a good businessman too, none of which are true. I think an equally large portion see him as a big fat **** that eats too much McDonalds. I mean, seriously, what is the most vigorous thing Trump has done since he came down the elevator?  Play golf?  Serious question.

I do not think he won’t be the candidate

I’m just not convinced he will be.

Lol, super.

Yes, I saw you said that, after the post I was responding to 🤷‍♂️

it doesn’t really matter what you or I think. I’m talking about the general public. And no one in their right mind would describe Biden tripping and falling on stage after speaking as anything other than problematic for his campaign.

it’s unfortunate but the general electorate doesn’t vote based on credentials, or actual policy ideas or track record. They vote on appearances, including strength, and other silly things.

that’s why Warren will never be a serious candidate and our last president was a reality tv star that’s makes fun of people with disabilities, commits tons of crimes, lies constantly, and assaults women.

it’s why we have the government we have. It’s why we deserve the government we have.

I, personally, don’t have anything against Biden.

but this is not hard to see or understand why it’s a huge problem. Especially if it means the alternative is the guy that tried to overthrow the government last time. He’s being selfish. He shouldn’t be running.

Well. This goes back to one of the points I made earlier. Didn’t Biden run an abbreviated campaign because it was during Covid? Didn’t he have significantly fewer public appearances/rallies/town halls, and rely more on YouTube videos during that campaign?

he won’t have that luxury this time. He’s going to need to be out and about.

and look, I bet we’re on the same page about the health of these two. I’m guessing trump is in terrible health and Biden is not. And I, personally, don’t have any reason to believe he’s mentally declined. If anything I’d think his stuttering issues are to explain for everything and it’s being spun into something else because of his age.

but trump does rallies all over the place and moves around a lot. He shows up in lots of places.

and I think if Biden can’t keep up with that, and can’t do it without tripping and falling all over the place, it’s going to be a huge issue for him. Even if it shouldn’t be.

and while trump needing to be escorted down the ramp was hilarious including the YouTube video that came of it, that was a while ago and if he doesn’t have things like that happen again it won’t matter

Ron DeSantis thanks then attacks heckler who called him a fascist

A South Carolina heckler called Ron DeSantis a “****ing fascist” on Friday. In response, the Florida governor and Republican presidential candidate said: “Yeah, well, thank you, thank you.”

Then DeSantis went on the attack.

“We’re not gonna let you impose an agenda on our kids,” he said, to cheers from the Lexington crowd. “We’re gonna stand up for our kids. We’re gonna make sure to do it right.

“Those people like that in Florida are the people we beat every single day on policy. We do not let them win. We win all these battles. We’re not letting them indoctrinate our kids, not on our watch.”

The audience jeered and booed the heckler.

Biden will win the Dem primary but what should be concerning is how much RFK and Marianne get during the primary season. If say 20% or higher of the primary vote goes to those fringe candidates; that has to be concerning in the fall.

It won’t take that much to flip the 3 states needed to get to 270.  If the fall Dem vote is lesser/ depressed; then that can doom Biden’s chances against Trump or anyone else.

They’re just running the same Bernie/DNC/Dank meme playbook from 2016 and trying to hit paydirt again with dumb as a brick lefties.  Fully expect RFK to unveil his “health care is a human right” platform  and FB/Twitter Dank Meme Stash in short order.

Weren’t there like 2 or 3 solidly R states that went for trump in 2020, but were super close to being flipped? I seem to recall Texas being one of them?

it seems every time someone talks about how a few could flip back, they never mention the couple traditional R states that were almost flipped last time

Four states that voted for Biden (GA, AZ, WI, PA) in 2020 had closer margins than NC, which had the closest margin of the states that went for Trump.
