What’s the word on this Sunday storm, family?

I am reading 3-5 inches of snow for the Annapolis, MD area.  News is over calling it at 7-10 inches.

It’s too early to predict amounts yet. A lot depends on whether two storms, one from the west, one from south, collide.

Yep, looks like it. Most snow we will have gotten since January 2019 (11 inches of snow, at least in McLean) during the wildcard weekend. Was fun watching football while snow was falling.

I hope all the snow drops on you. That way we don't ever have to hear you complain about snow ever again (cuz you'll be trapped under it for all eternity, probably enjoying it and playing cast away poker with your Snowman in an igloo).

Right? We finally dig him out in like September and he's kicking and screaming because we didn't let him put down a violent workers strike. Then you look in there and there's like one snowman in there with a Teamsters hat on, modeled to look like its scowling and shaking it's fist.

Potentially some ice after the snow?

A 709-day snow drought will come to an end on Sunday in Washington, DC

It's been almost two years since Washington, DC, has had a snowfall greater than 1 inch, but that could change drastically by Monday. The city is under a winter storm watch from Saturday evening until Sunday evening, with 5-10 inches of snow possible.

"Forecasting snowfall amounts in the nation's capital is rarely easy, but confidence is increasing that the DC area will see a significant snowfall developing on Sunday and lasting into Monday," says CNN meteorologist Taylor Ward.

A big winter storm is in the works that could bring the nation's capital as much as 10 inches of snow. This would end the 709-day streak that Washington, DC, has gone without a snowfall greater than 1 inch.

"The only other time this has happened was a 788-day streak that ended in 2013," says CNN meteorologist Brandon Miller.

"Snow will move in from southwest to northeast late Saturday night and early Sunday morning, with snow likely widespread by mid-late morning Sunday," said the weather service office in Baltimore and Washington, DC.

By Sunday afternoon into Monday, there is the potential of a changeover to sleet and freezing rain.
