Trading my current car for this 2024 Subaru Outback on Monday.

Wagon Gang!

Sadly the Outback is essentially the last non-luxury wagon available in the US.

I'm proud to have my kinda rare TourX.  - The least popular car style (wagon) from one of the least popular car brands around (Buick)!

Oh that’s a nice one! I’m a wagon slut myself.

Volvo is discontinuing theys wagons sales in Europe. Think 2023 is the final year. I wonder how much longer they continue to sell them here. I've owned two V70 and I definitely miss that better gas mileage. My traverse is a typical gas guzzling chevy. 😒

Shame. The V90 wagon is stunning in person.

Volvo made a business decision for efficiency and to streamline production, so they only make one engine for all their cars.  It's a 2.0L turbocharged 4 cylinder that generates 250 hp.  When I bought my car it was designated the T5.  Now they claim some minor hybridization with regenerative braking and it's called the B5.  But if you look at Volvos it's all either the T(or B)5 or the T(or B)6.  The difference is in the 6 they add a supercharger on top of the turbo, to generate more horsepower (over 300).  But in the larger cars like the XC60 the 5 engines just have to work harder so they get even worse mileage.  I had an XC90 as a loaner, and you the power and acceleration were good, but I was getting only 13 mpg where I would get 18 in my V60.

That's crazy. I can hit 38mpg on the highway if i'm vigilant.
