My 5th Subaru.

2000 Legacy Wagon -5 years

2005 Legacy Wagon- 5 1/2 years

2010 Forester- 1 year

2017 Impreza- 6 1/2 years, the one I’m trading in.

Why? Are you driving 25k miles a year? Or are we the weird ones with a 2003 and 2010 Honda at home?

I did drive a lot.

Here’s all my cars:

1991 Ford Escort- 3 years

1993 Ford Tempo- 3 years - Told my dad my Escort had a problem and he just traded it in.

1996 Ford Escort- 3 years

Think I put 70,000 to 80,000 miles on those.

My dad’s office was beside a Ford dealership.

2000 Subaru Legacy Wagon - 5 years

2005 Subaru Legacy Wagon - 5 1/2 years - Sold car to My uncle in 2010 and he had it another 6 years

2010 Subaru Forester- 1 year. It sucked gas, so gave it to my mom and took her Cherokee to trade in for my Hyundai. Don’t remember how long mom kept it.

2012 Hyundai Elantra- 5 years. Gave to my uncle, which he still has.

2017 Subaru Impreza - 6 1/2 years.  We traded in my uncles 2005 Subaru Legacy Wagon for my Impreza and I gave him

my Elantra.

I would say I put around 90,000 to 105,000 on the Subarus except Forester and over 120,000 on the Elantra.

From 2011 to 2019, drove from West Virginia to Florida probably 4-5 times a year.

Since I’ve been on dialysis in 2019, I no longer drive long distance. Just drive to and from Orlando, an hour away. So, my new car will last longer.

I get it. That's a lot of cars..I'm just jealous.

We have a 2016 Honda too but it's my wife's 2 door coupe and she put like 3k a year on it. 😁

My dad has had over 30 cars since his first car- Ford Maverick in early 70’s. He use to buy a new car every 3 years. Sometimes on a whim.

I cleaned out my old car. Found stuff in glove box, I didn’t know was there.

It will be traded tomorrow.

Cmon TEG!  Round up a little scratch and upgrade the 2003 CRV.

You only live once…

It's only got 135k on it (and it was the wife's first new car). Plus we live in the SF Bay Area..even solid middle class is cash poor there.

I'm 48..and this is all I have ever owned.

73 220 Benz

87 Honda Civic Hatchback

99 Mazda Miata (I kid..it was Protege).

10 Honda Insight

(the 03 CRV and 16 CRZ are the wife's).

That’s a very “dirty hippie” stable of automobiles.

I’m 44. My parents gave me a used Oldsmobile in high school. Bought my first (used) car when I was 25 - Toyota Camry. Then bought the Outback in ‘15. That’s it. That’s the list.

My wife has had 3 cars in her lifetime too. She has a 2009 Civic. I drive that more now. It runs nicely, but the paint is fading and some of the interior is really worn. I’m debating whether or not to put some money into the paint and interior or just upgrading in general.

I’ve been looking at the Solterra, but can’t justify the cost.

New ride on the way.

Now that we’ve retired to paradise, and I’ve got my beach toy (‘21 Jeep Wrangler 80th anniversary edition in Nacho orange), was time to get rid of the other big car (Chevy Traverse) and get my wife a sedan. We wanted to go EV, so did a good bit of research that did not include Tesla, and decided on the Ioniq 6. She wanted the limited, so we’re getting first one coming to the dealership, ETA July 16.

Test drove the SEL model…sweet ride! More range than similar priced Tesla.

I see a lot of Hyundai Ioniqs on the road. They look nice.

My job is on a campus that has free charging stations (the entire campus is energy neutral due to the solar panels covering the majority of the parking spots), so an EV would definitely be a great option for my next car. Plus when we bought our now 60+ year old house, we had a new breaker box put in that would allow for a charger to be added should we go that route next.

Enjoy the new ride.

That’s the all electric car they made with Toyota.  If you want an all electric Subaru, just wait 3-4 years as they are ramping up their electric selection. Easy thing for them would be to have an electric version of their top 3 model models: Crosstrek, Forester and Outback.

76 Nova hand me down was my first car.  It jumped like the General Lee out here in the middle of the desert just didn't land so well.  Recall having about 10 guys in there, skipping class, sitting on a ditch bank and blowing some dope/dope smoke rings to each with a contraption called a steamroller they used to sell at head shops.
