I have never done karaoke, probably because after singing/playing in bands for 20+ years it was always depressing to see genuine live music die off from the bar scene.

For what it's worth I am a dead ringer for any Van Morrison vocals, and I do a mean Dr John imitation on Right Place, Wrong Time.

Not really but i had to wait for the train in richmond for a couple hours because it was late and with the heat and netflix playing for that time it ate into my safety margin... could have super charged in hampton or norfolk but i decided to roll the dice all the way to vabeach.

I always go to "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" from Led Zeppelin.  I nail it.  Then I stop nailing my girlfriend.

Kevin Smith is a terrible filmmaker.

Discuss...

I don't think he's terrible by any means.  Is he great?  No, not when compared to other filmmakers out there.  But I enjoyed  his early work (first 7 movies) and think that he gave his target audience what they were looking for along with those that enjoy the type of humor found in those movies.

Clerks was a really good movie, imo, but I relate to it because it came out when I was in college and working in a small grocery store in a shady part of town that had all kinds of weird regulars that shopped there, etc.  I thought Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma were really good too.  Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back was and always will be hilarious to me.  Jersey Girl was different and more serious, a good movie.  Clerks II was funny, still makes me laugh.

Zack and Miri Make a Porno was ok, nothing that made me want to watch it again.  Perhaps that's where it got worse for him?  I haven't watched any of the movies after Zack and Miri.  I did get the newest one, Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, which I only watched part of last night.

I will say that I think it's good/ok, most likely because of the nostalgia with those characters and basically enjoying his first 7 flicks where they had roles in 6 of them.  I dunno, I guess you either enjoy that type of humor or you don't.

Jay and Silent Bob is great. The unwavering use of curse words and angry dialog reminds me of Full Metal Jacket and Pulp fiction.  Even though we're talkin about a comedy compared to completely different styles of film.  I like the Clerks movies, they are kind of the same way as Jay and Silent Bob as far as dialog.

Haven't seen the others Smith has made. #Doc

When you buy new clothes, do you wash them before you wear them?  Or just throw them on?  I am wearing a new Old Navy tshirt I bought yesterday, didn't wash it.  Am I going to die? 😦

Doubtful. I wash them. Who knows who tried them on. Some crusty hippie mayhaps. Plus #bedbugs.

I like Kevin Smith films. Haven't seen any since Red State tho. Thought it was good and didn't realize he directed it until the credits rolled.
