“Democrat shenanigans”: Experts alarmed as MAGA fans cry “fraud” in Iowa — despite Trump’s huge win

Despite former President Donald Trump's dominant Iowa caucus victory, some supporters are spreading false claims of voter fraud because he lost a single county by a single vote.

Trump, who has leaned on conspiracy theories and a fabricated narrative alleging that the 2020 election was rigged against him, has supporters perpetuating similar claims. Some of his most fervent supporters are pushing electoral conspiracies on far-right online platforms even though Trump won 51 percent of the vote in Iowa, Wired reported.

Some of Trump’s Biggest Fans Wish He Would Show a Little Restraint. Lol.

Donald Trump has a well-earned reputation for spouting falsehoods. In New Hampshire, even some of this most diehard fans are shaking their heads at his prevarications, including the lie that he has been repeating throughout the Granite State that Democrats are allowed to vote in the Republican primary. (They can’t.)

“You have a governor here that allows Democrats to vote in the Republican primary,” Trump said, falsely, at a rally in Manchester Saturday night, echoing the same lie he told on social media and on Fox News.

Trump “got that wrong,” admitted Greg, an ardent Trump supporter and former campaign volunteer in New Hampshire who waited outside in the subfreezing temperatures for about three hours to see Trump speak.

Greg was also perplexed by Trump’s assertion during his speech that “each drug dealer kills on average 500 people during his or her lifetime,” a claim of unknown origin that was previously debunked by the Washington Post.

“What, like every drug dealer is responsible for the death of 500 people? Really?” Greg, who was there with his wife, told me. “I sold drugs. Weed. Nobody died. Come on.”

Ross, a New Hampshire man who was turned away at a Trump event on Sunday night due to capacity limits, says he’s voting for Haley in the primary. One reason? Trump’s rhetoric. “I think she would be more measured,” he said.

John, a Nottingham, New Hampshire voter who has decided to support Trump on Tuesday said “I think a lot of people would like to see [him] tweak back a little bit.”  “But that kind of makes Trump, Trump.”

Greg isn’t too worried Trump’s exaggerations will hurt his electoral odds. He does, however, have some sympathy for the Trump staffers tasked with keeping the candidate on message.

“The worst job in the Trump campaign? His speech writer,” says Greg. “That guy’s got to be an alcoholic.”

Are there any players still kneeling?

From what I saw, Goff knelt 3 separate times at the end of the game. THREE! Can you imagine the disrespect to our troops, our country, OUR VERY WAYS OF LIFE? 3 times!

I'm sure some smart-ass will come in and try to convince you that it was some sort of "plan" to "kill the clock" or whatever, but we all know those players are liars who can't be trusted! Don't believe what they say, Goff kneeling was clearly a sign that he supports Sean McDermott's support of Al Queda!

Fun fact: The owner of one of my first clients - Tillotson Healthcare (Neil Tillotson) - was the first to vote in every Presidential election & primary from 1960-2001 in Dixville Notch, NH. I met him once.

Haley swept the vote there (6 people).

Carry on.

‘Forced out of office and brutally murdered’: Man charged with repeatedly posting death threats against Biden and Harris using pro-Trump and sex-themed accounts

An Arizona man was charged by federal agents on Tuesday for allegedly posting several exceedingly violent threats on social media targeting President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

David Michael Hanson stands accused of four counts of threats against the president and successors to the presidency, one count of threatening the president, and five counts of interstate threats, according to a 13-page criminal complaint obtained by Law&Crime.

The defendant previously got off with a warning over several threats made on X, the social media site formerly known as Twitter, last November, according to the U.S. Secret Service. Then, he posted threats again in December 2023.

On Nov. 19, 2023, three violent threats were posted by an X account with a handle that refers to sexual activity.

“#joeAndKamala,” the first tweet begins, “I’m asking you to resign on Monday your alternative is death brutally murdered…”

Later that same day, the sex-themed account posted: “#assassinate and #bombtheWhiteHouse what are you waiting for do it!”

One minute after that, the sex-themed account reiterated the call for the bombing of the president’s home. This second call for a bombing featured “a clip from the film Independence Day where the White House appears to be on fire,” according to the complaint.

Hours later, an account using a pro-Donald Trump handle posted: “#joeAndKamala dead (skull emoji) required tomorrow we want your resignation.” This post allegedly contained a screenshot of a submission page with the defendant’s first and last name visible.

One minute after that, the Trump-themed account posted: “Because your incompetent #resignation or #assassination your choice” in response to a post made by one of Biden’s official X accounts.

The complaint also includes an X post from an unknown time that day by the sex-themed account which reads: “#joeAndKamala are dead in less than #365days they’re forced out of office and brutally murdered @JoeBiden and @VP run for your lives or resign on Monday.”

Federal authorities say they connected both accounts to Hanson because he posted images and videos of himself that aligned with his driver’s license photo — and due to the use of his own name.

Between Nov. 20 and Nov. 22, 2023, Hanson communicated with two federal agents online, over the phone, and in person. Over the course of those interviews, the defendant said he thought his threats were protected by the First Amendment, was told they were not, and then “explained he understood and would not do it again.”

By late December, authorities allege, the threats started again.

No more discussing the border, ladies

Reading through some of his tweets, this dude is ridiculously insecure about his masculinity, or just absolutely hates women. He somehow manages to make almost everything about gender and being a "manly man". Right wingers are just weird.

The below is from 2017, but still rings true:

Why Trump's Staff Is Lying

It's both a loyalty test and a proclamation of power.

One of the most striking features of the early Trump administration has been its political uses of lying. The big weekend story was the obviously false claim of Donald Trump’s press secretary, Sean Spicer, that Trump pulled in the largest inauguration crowds in American history. This raises the question of why a leader might find it advantageous to promote such lies from his subordinates.

First and most obviously, the leader wishes to mislead the public, and wants to have subordinates doing so, in part because many citizens won’t pursue fact-checking. But that’s the obvious explanation, and the truth runs much deeper.

By requiring subordinates to speak untruths, a leader can undercut their independent standing, including their standing with the public, with the media and with other members of the administration. That makes those individuals grow more dependent on the leader and less likely to mount independent rebellions against the structure of command. Promoting such chains of lies is a classic tactic when a leader distrusts his subordinates and expects to continue to distrust them in the future.

Another reason for promoting lying is what economists sometimes call loyalty filters. If you want to ascertain if someone is truly loyal to you, ask them to do something outrageous or stupid. If they balk, then you know right away they aren’t fully with you.

Trump specializes in lower-status lies, typically more of the bald-faced sort, namely stating “x” when obviously “not x” is the case. They are proclamations of power, and signals that the opinions of mainstream media and political opponents will be disregarded. The lie needs to be understood as more than just the lie. For one thing, a lot of Americans, especially many Trump supporters, are more comfortable with that style than with the “fancier” lies they believe they are hearing from the establishment.
