In secret recording, Florida Republican threatens to send Russian-Ukrainian ‘hit squad’ after rival

MIAMI — A little-known GOP candidate in one of Florida’s most competitive congressional seats was secretly recorded threatening to send “a Russian and Ukrainian hit squad” to a fellow Republican opponent to make her “disappear.”

 

During a 30-minute call with a conservative activist that was recorded before he became a candidate, William Braddock repeatedly warned the activist to not support GOP candidate Anna Paulina Luna in the Republican primary for a Tampa Bay-area congressional seat because he had access to assassins. The seat is being vacated by Rep. Charlie Crist (D-Fla.), who is running for governor.

 

“I really don't want to have to end anybody's life for the good of the people of the United States of America,” Braddock said at one point in the conversation last week, according to the recording exclusively obtained by POLITICO. “That will break my heart. But if it needs to be done, it needs to be done. Luna is a f---ing speed bump in the road. She's a dead squirrel you run over every day when you leave the neighborhood.”

 

Reached by text message, Braddock refused to say whether he made any threats about Luna to the person who recorded him, Erin Olszewski.

 

Asked repeatedly via text if he mentioned Russian-Ukrainian hit squads, Braddock wouldn’t give a yes or no answer, saying he had not heard the recording and that it’s “allegedly me … there is no proof of that.” He also suggested the recording “may even be altered and edited.”

Fox has covered a school district changing its calendar over twice as much as revelations Trump's DOJ seized phone records of his opponents

 

Fox News has covered a New Jersey school board that changed the specific holiday names in its academic calendar to just “days off” more than twice as much as it covered new bombshell revelations that former President Donald Trump's Department of Justice subpoenaed the records of at least two congressional Democrats. 

 

Fox News dedicated one hour and 18 minutes of coverage to the New Jersey school board faux scandal. In comparison, the network gave just 33 minutes of coverage to the story that the Trump administration’s Department of Justice “seized data from the accounts of at least two members of the House Intelligence Committee” and people close to them, including their aides, former aides, and family members.

For some reason that whole thing just made me think of some stereotypical old white South Carolinian who says "negro" because they still think that's the polite and socially acceptable thing to say instead of the N word.

Ted Cruz slams critical race theory as ‘every bit as racist as the klansmen in white sheets’

“Now what is critical race theory?” Cruz asked, telling an account of earlier in the week when a reporter asked him about the controversial curriculum. “I said, well, it’s a theory that derives from Marxism. Karl Marx viewed the entire world as a conflict between classes, between the owners of capital and the working men and women, the proletariat — a fundamental battle in society.”

 

“Critical race theory takes that same Marxist concept, except it replaces class with race,” the senator continued. “It says all of America and all of the world is a battle between the races.”

 

“Critical race theory says every white person is a racist. Critical race theory says America is fundamentally and irredeemably racist. Critical race theory seeks to turn us against each other and, if someone has different colored skin, seeks to make us hate that person,” Cruz exclaimed.

 

Yes, the study of how our system of law and institutional racism intertwine is totally the same as a group who lynch Black people.
