If the GQP wants to turn Texas into a faux Christian fascist ****hole with no social safety net or any real kind of government services or funding, I think we should probably encourage that.  10s of millions of US MagaKlan can immigrate there and after a few hurricane seasons/summer scorchers, the infrastructure fails and they basically turn into a third world country.  Maybe they could take Arkansas and Oklaholma with them too!

 

Meanwhile, the US body politic gets much less radical and we can actually get some decent legislation passed.

Just because a complete list of the Texas Republican party platform is called for and so you know how off the rails they are. From a friend's FB page. It's ****ing long!

 

· Joe Biden was not legitimately elected and voter fraud was widespread
· Repeal the 1965 Voting Rights Act and later amendments
· Oppose the federal gun control bill currently in Congress
· All gun control violates the 2nd amendment and god given rights
· Freeze the SCOTUS at 9 members
· Eliminate federal income tax
· U.S. Senators should be appointed by the legislature, not by popular vote
· Eliminate citizenship for children of immigrants born in the U.S.
· Claims that federal suspension of habeas corpus is a violation of Texas sovereignty
· Census counts must be an in person count, not by statistical analysis
· Invalidate the proposed Equal Rights Amendment
· Put Christian prayer, bible and the 10 commandments in all schools, courthouses, and gov’t buildings
· Eliminate all gun regulations
· Hold a statewide vote on Texas secession
· Life begins at conception
· Call for a Convention of States
· Free market utilities
· Carbon dioxide is not a pollutant
· Oppose “environmentalism” whenever it conflicts with business interests and private property use.
· Defund climate initiatives, abolish the EPA, repeal the Endangered Species Act, oppose the America the Beautiful Act
· Oppose renewable energy initiatives
· The state legislature should preempt local governments authority over short term rentals, bags, sick leave, trees, and employee criminal screening
· Abolish professional and business licensing by the state
· Repeal minimum and prevailing wage laws
· Abolish mandatory sick and family leave requirements for businesses
· Penalize companies that participate in boycotts due to Texas legislation regarding vaccination, abortion, prohibiting the teaching of CRT, and anti-trans laws
· Use anti-trust law to prohibit “collusion” between “woke” corporations
· Eliminate all collective bargaining for public employees
· Privatize Social Security
· Block unions from using member dues for political purposes
· Eliminate annual vehicle registration and safety inspections
· No funding for high speed rail
· Prohibit businesses from being required to enforce state health and other laws
· Eliminate government employee pensions
· Abolish; estate tax, inventory tax, franchise tax, phone/internet tax, ACA home sales tax
· Replace federal income tax with flat or consumption tax
· Freeze public education spending
· Eliminate the property tax and prohibit replacing it with an income tax
· Abolish the Federal Reserve
· No regulation of home schooling, or private and religious schools
· Individual parent’s rights in education protected over all others and enforced with criminal and civil penalties
· Prohibit teaching sex education and sexual health in all public schools in any grade
· Require teaching that life begins at fertilization in schools
· Abolish the federal Dept of Education and its functions
· Arm teachers and administrators
· Texas schools must teach that there are only 2 genders and pronouns
· Oppose social justice and multi-cultural diversity initiatives in universities
· Abolish tenure
· Abolish mental health providers and interventions in public schools
· Prohibit all reproductive healthcare service in public schools
· Random drug testing for welfare recipients
· Oppose Medicaid expansion
· Repeal the ACA (Obamacare)
· Homosexuality is an abnormal lifestyle choice
· Oppose legalization of marijuana, but make it a schedule 2 drug
· Eliminate mandatory vaccination of children, healthcare workers, and others
· Prohibit removal of Confederate monuments
· Prohibit same sex marriage
· Prohibit gun free zones
· Eliminate all federal land in Texas except military bases, federal buildings, and post offices
· Abolish the IRS, Dept of Education, Dept of Energy, HUD, Dept of Commerce, Health and Human Service, Dept of Labor, Dept of Interior, TSA, ATF, Nat’l Labor Relations Board, FDA, CDC, FDIC, OSHA
· Limit early voting to 3 days
· Repeal motor voter laws

I was trying to play a game of finding the most brazenly idiotic item on the list and it’s just impossible.

 

I admit though, I’m a little confused.  This is the states GOP platform, correct?  So why would things requiring federal legislature be on this list?  They have no jurisdiction over such matters as “freeze the SCOTUS at 9” and “eliminate federal income tax” and such.  

 

I’m just…it’s like a parody list a liberal would compile of outrageous GOP positions except it’s real.
