Do you think the real unemployment numbers are as good as the 4.1 or whatever they claim? same problems exist and it will need to rise to show real recovery. Gallen5862
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/us-top-court-blocks-redraw-of-north-carolina-congressional-maps/ar-AAuROY4?ocid=spartanntp U.S. top court blocks redraw of North Carolina congressional maps Jan 18 (Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday blocked a lower court's order for North Carolina to rework its congressional map because Republicans violated the Constitution by drawing electoral districts intended to maximize their party's chances of winning. The conservative-majority court granted a bid by Republican legislators in North Carolina to suspend the Jan. 9 order by a federal court panel in Greensboro that gave the Republican-controlled General Assembly until Jan. 24 to come up with a new map for U.S. House of Representatives districts. Two liberal justices, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sonia Sotomayor, objected to the high court's action. The Supreme Court's decision to stay the order reduces the chance that the current district lines will be altered ahead of the November mid-term congressional elections. The court offered no reason for its decision.

LD0506
The right has gone all in on controlling and manipulating voting as their only chance of retaining control. They are incapable of winning hearts n minds by making a legitimate argument, they admit this themselves and aren't even trying to find a fig leaf. Expect more of this approaching the midterms as they seek to stack the deck even more.

As I was searching for the article, tho, I found this gem: http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/369689-omarosa-may-have-secretly-taped-white-house-conversations-report Quote Former Trump staffer Omarosa Manigault Newman might have secretly recorded private conversations in the White House as she feared special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe, The New York Daily News reported Friday. Sources told the Daily News that Manigault Newman, who abruptly resigned from the White House late last year, “loves” to record meetings. Her official last day in the administration is Saturday. “Everyone knows Omarosa loves to record people and meetings using the voice notes app on her iPhone,” one source said. “Don’t be surprised if she has secret audio files on everyone in that White House, past and present staffers included.” The White House’s recent ban on staffers having their personal cell phones was tied to Manigault-Newman’s habit of recording her conversations, the source told the Daily News. 11 hours ago, twa said: Imagine that result from SCOTUS, meanwhile Poll: Dems' lead over Republicans on House generic 2018 ballot drops to single digits http://hill.cm/eCQLPYC sounds like a good time for a govt shutdown over DACA Found it. http://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/369591-poll-dems-lead-gop-by-11-on-generic-2018-house-ballot Poll: Dems lead GOP by 11 points on generic 2018 House ballot I guess by "single digits" they mean that the lead only contains one digit. Nine percent are undecided. That shows a sizable decline from December polling, which found Democrats leading by 13 points on generic ballot polling. Thursday’s poll found more welcome news for Republicans among registered voters who identify as independents. Among those voters, Republicans led by 2 points, with 38 percent of those voters saying they’d vote for the GOP candidate, while 36 percent said the Democratic candidate. In December, polling found that Democrats were leading among independent voters by 11 points.

PleaseBlitz
I was correct. Your link did not work, and it was (and is) not on their front page. Also, my link is also correct. Democrats lead Republicans by 11 points in generic ballot polling for the House ahead of the 2018 midterm elections, according to a new poll. A Quinnipiac University poll finds 50 percent of American voters say they would want to see the Democratic Party take control of the House. That's compared to 39 percent that say they would rather see the Republican Party in control.

Burgold
This is one of those cases where I'd heed twa's warnings. The worst thing that can happen is complacency and overconfidence. How many democrats reported staying home because they thought the election was in the bag. If 2016 proved anything, it's that there are way more crazy, stupid, short-sighted people than anyone expected. Don't underestimate the ability of the right to motivate through hate and lies.

TheGreatBuzz
When I read it, I knew that I knew the name but wasn't sure why. I looked up his party so we can all save time and base our arguments along party lines as usual (speaking society more than here, though it certainly happens here also).
