Evangelicals are going to look at that Anderson Cooper clip and all they are going to take from it is that they are being persecuted for their beliefs and mocked for their values blah blah blah.  The fact that she refused to answer every single question will not occur to them at all.   They will dig in their heels even further.

Maybe Cooper should have thought of that?

Kinda like that Moore comment on families, people are going to look at things from their perspective unless ya make the extra effort to accommodate theirs.

Anderson Cooper wasn't mocking or even challenging any of the statements or beliefs though.  He was simply offering up Roy Moore's own quotes and asking his spokesperson if he presently believes those things to be true. Every single quote of his, the lady changed the topic and accused Anderson Cooper of something.  Classic fake-persecution strategy.

Anyone who takes it any other way has something wrong going on upstairs.

And that would be a rather significant % of the population wouldn't it.

Please explain why anyone who can look at things constructively would come to the conclusion Anderson Cooper was mocking Moore's beliefs?  Roy Moore made public statements.  It is 100% valid for the media to ask him and/or his spokesperson if he stands by his beliefs.  Not once did Cooper offer up any commentary on those beliefs or say anything about the beliefs.

Sounds like a case of a segment of the population being instructed and conditioned to find things that aren't there.

What's your point?

Evangelicals wallowing in a ridiculous persecution complex has been an integral part of  American culture for the past several decades.

Here's how the conversation goes:

1) Prominent Evangelical says something stupid, bigoted or otherwise indefensible

2) Someone points out that what they said was stupid, bigoted or otherwise indefensible

3) Evangelicals stick their fingers in their ears, scream about elitism, media bias and anti-religious persectution, and bind together ever more tightly

We've all seen this movie before.

This was kinda interesting, or I'm just bored and don't want to work.

There is a twist that just surfaced today. In an ABC News interview, Young acknowledged adding information to the yearbook entry, but says most of the writing is Moore’s

the DA initials on the signature are probably more interesting aspect though

Waiting for that white power tweet any day now.

People are blasting Moore supporters but Iowans that support King seem to get a pass. He is a white supremacist and it’s just accepted in Washington even though it shouldn’t be.

so newer reporting on farenthold fleshes things out and supports what a smart person's eye and ears would conclude simply by observing him a few times---that he's a dysfunctional low-intellect ambulatory hot mess of a human (spiritually speaking)---and drone smurf of the dark lords paul ryan knows the newer stuff and still figures blake's plan to serve out the rest of his term is 'just fine"

look for a few gopers with an actual spine, conscience, and some decency left (or political savvy) to say, 'uh, no...he gotta go"
