Stadium-Armory
I think this is more about Jarrett being out now. He played in some nickel and dime situations (from what I could tell). He was playing several rolls, not just the typical safety. Also, news is on Phillips, he may be able to practice on Wednesday. They said it was a "stinger" and all the medical testing cleared him of any real damage or injury. Ahh. I thought it was the other way around: Jarrett with the stinger returning to practice Wednesday.
Taco Bell
That's a ridiculously good late season signing. Even if he fails - just the risk/reward factor. Hopefully it will be more like a Pierre Thomas signing and he will contribute. Any former Chip hater is fine by me on this team too
velocet
Of course I trust in GMSM. But further, I trust Perry Fewell: NEVER have I seen a man do so much in so short a time with such a revolving cast of players. ALL HAIL Coach Fewell! He'll have Cary Williams part of the program no doubt full stop. velocet
Hooterman
It'll be especially sweet when he clinches the NFC Championship game by intercepting Wilson at FedEx. Ha ha, that would be phenomenal!

He'll have Cary Williams part of the program no doubt full stop. Yea, talk about an understatement. Coughlin mentioned Fewell by name today in that exit speech of his, and complimented him on his contribution to winning the division here. If Callahan is our over qualified savant on the O coaching staff, Fewell is the guy on D.
CaliSkinsFan92
Of course I trust in GMSM. But further, I trust Perry Fewell: Definitely. Fewell has really done some decent work with the players he has. I remember Morris getting lots of credit here sometimes, and I never really understood it. I think Fewell has done pretty well. DC9
I'm actually thinking this is more of a "playing special teams" signing than a nickel signing. He's going to be playing defensive back. Kyshoen Jarrett is out for this week.

dswerdlw
Assuming that Jarrett might be out for the season, we're still thin at safety. Jeron Johnson is the only backup at that position. I wonder if one of the CBs (Harris, Williams, Everett) can fill-in at safety.
s0crates
Well we had to bring in somebody. If you don't like the move, then I propose you tell me who we should have brought in instead.
dswerdlw
I like the move. I'm just wondering if one of these guys has any experience or interest in playing safety.

KingGibbs
So some fans don't like this signing? That's funny. I must have missed the tree that grows corners.
BRAVEONTHEWARPATH93
Ppl are FREAKING THE HELL OUT on twitter. Dude is coming in to play nickel. He's a vet, he's physical, and has playoff experience. At some point, you'd think our fans would learn to just shut the **** up and enjoy the ride... CBass1724
This is a fantastic signing! We need as much help as we can get in the secondary and everyone has been contributing nicely. If this were April during the offseason and he was being signed to a multi-year deal to start as a top 2 corner, then we'd all have a right to be upset. The dude is coming in to play nickel, is a veteran, and has Super Bowl experience. Someone like him can help for sure. Some of ya'll got no chill. ksun247
This is a good pick up. He won't play the majority of snaps. He's there to provide relief snaps to the guys we currently have in the secondary. As long as he's in decent shape, we'll be fine.

rick7423
I listened to Blackmon on Sportscenter after the game and he said that all the guys on the team have good chemistry and that they talk, a lot, on the field. If Williams can come in, learn, communicate, and not be a distraction, all will be good. I just hate bringing in guys that *** might *** cause a disruption in that chemistry. awd_sr
Well we had to bring in somebody. If you don't like the move, then I propose you tell me who we should have brought in instead. if Vinny was here he'd give Neon Deion a call, hahahah I like the signing. He can play, and I must say I trust Scott. Too bad they couldnt hide Amerson in the equipment room all season or something...
zCommander
http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/14507685/washington-redskins-sign-cornerback-cary-williams I am just glad there was someone to sign. Great for one week. One week? Nah. He is here to give us insight when we play the Seahawks in the later rounds.

Peregrine
Yeah, at this stage you just need someone who has experience, who you can throw in and in one week play. You NEED depth with the injuries, and you cannot sign a young DB at this stage. There is no more learning curve, this is the playoffs.
Spearfeather
Better than some Tampa retread that George Allen would have picked up . Nah, George would have picked up a Los Angeles Ram. Tampa Bay had only been a team for a couple of years by the time he left here. But I mean, that was 40 years ago. Sometimes you just got to let it go.
