The Coaching Thread/Race to Black Monday: 1/6/25

Joseph down to "Probably Safe".  Shouldn't enjoy first year protection after his defense quit yesterday.

Gruden up a level to "Probably Safe".  Think I saw my dad blocking for skins yesterday.

McAdoo down to a need-to-be-created level ("Won't make it to Black Monday").  Quitting doesn't quite describe what they're doing.  Good news for skins since they have them two times.

NFL hot seat rankings: Um, it seems Giants' Ben McAdoo in increasingly serious jeopardy

Well, midway through the season.

1.  Browns - Hue Jackson - he's gone.

2.  Giants - Ben Macadoo - Probably fired during the season

3.  Colts - Chuck Pagano - Also, probably fired during the season.

4.  Bucs - Dirk Koetter - Major disappointment. He's gone.

5.  Bengals - Marvin Lewis - Will not get a new contract

6.  Bears - John Fox- double digit losses, does him in

7.  Cards - Bruce Arians - This will be his final season. Not fired but he will resign.

Dolphins Adam Gase,, Ravens John Harbaugh and Packers Mike Mccarthy are coaches to keep an eye on.

Word up in the NY area is that McAdoodoo has lost the team and most players don't respect him at all.

Look for him to be fired after the 49ers beat the Giants on Sunday.

That’s actually the one other game i can see the giants winning. The 49ers are 0-9 for a reason. Eli Manning should be able to score on that defense.

Agree with these except i think the Rodgers injury will save McCarthy's job. Fox in Chicago I'm not sure a bout, their D has been pretty good and they have a rookie QB. They might want a fresh young offensive mind to coach Trebisky up though(like McVay in LA with Goff).

The Untouchables:  Tomlin, Shanahan (R), Belichick, Pederson, McVay, McDermott (R), Carroll, Lynn (R), McCarthy, Reid, Marrone, Joseph (R), Garrett, O'Brien

Probably safe:  Harbaugh, Rivera, Lewis (Ludicrous, I know), Payton, Bowles, Koetter, Quinn, Gase, Zimmer

Should be looking for 2018 coordinator positions just in case:  Fox, Pagano, Gruden, Mularkey,

Definitely gone IMO:  Arians, Jackson (Alamo Defender in Chief), Caldwell, McAdoo, del Rio

6 games to go, my updates (in bold).

Untouchable:  Tomlin, Shanahan (R), Belichick, Pederson, McVay, Carroll, Lynn (R), McCarthy, Reid, Marrone, O'Brien
Prob safe:  Harbaugh, Rivera, Lewis, Payton, Bowles, Koetter, Quinn, Zimmer, Joseph, McDermott

Danger zone:  Fox, Pagano, Gruden, Mularkey, Gase, Garrett,

Definitely Gone:  Arians, Jackson, Caldwell, McAdoo, del Rio

Garrett is going no where. I’m surprised Jerry hasn’t declared him head coach for life. Dude has had a built in excuse every year!!! He’s trash

Your coach, our GM/team president.

At least your owner doesn't feel the need to hide behind a career loser to improve his public perception.

Denver fired their OC, that won't do much. Joseph has good shot of being one and done.

Bowles needs to finish strong, a double digit losing season and he's done.

Koetter is on the way out, Bucs have been a major disappointment. Rumors are Chucky returns.

Caldwell got an extension during the offseason apparently. He has Lions in playoff hunt, he's returning.

Del Rio is on the hot seat but not 100% sure he's gone.

Lewis's contract expires at the end of the season; doubtful Brown gives him a new one.
