I'm personally loving the tweets I'm reading on Gettis. Think one of our young guys is "getting it" and realizing the work he has to put in to make it at this level. Also speaks volumes about his heart, dedication, and determination. It's refreshing to see out of our young guys, to say the least.

 

And the Gary Gnu reference just made me feel incredibly old. Like been around since Noah built the Ark old.... :ph34r:  :lol:

If they sign Daniels, you keep Niles. I get that. But I'm also curious where the roster play/emphasis will be under Gruden. More receivers? Linemen? DBs? Linebackers?

Four TEs are not a lot in a TE heavy offense. On the other hand, maybe we want a return specialist. Those margin calls determine the axe.

With Gruden, we have no idea where the edge will go.

 

Let's hope it ILB this year.

DC9, I c you like Skov :P, but do you think he would be good in this D? Not be a wiseass, simply asking. Truth is, I don't know much about him and really hadn't done my homework.....meant to say dog ate it. :ph34r:

For those interested, Fanspeak offers a premium version that allows trades of draft picks and allows you to pick a database to pull your player rankings from. It's $4.95. I just got it. It's just like their awesome beta version but with trades. Love it. It's basically like that be your own GM draft site but the trades aren't ridiculously stupid.

I think Niles is done if we sign Daniels.  You got to think that the non starters at ILB (Shaprton/Hayward/KRob) will play teams, and guys like BJenkins, Gumbs, and PThomas will play teams.  Also, Crawford can play teams and we didn't have him last season.

 

On top of that, I think we go ILB with our 3rd round pick after picking a WR in the 2nd.  I think we are hoping that KRob can start for us, but I think his injury history is gonna make someone like Christian Jones/Skov hard to pass on.  So while they sort it out at ILB, I think we roll with 9 LBs, and Niles gets the boot.

When do you suspect he'll go in the draft?

 

Hopefully one of the first few picks in the third.  I'd ask Dukes and Skins, he's the guru.

 

But I'm inclined to make it work.

If DY can take reps at TE I'm okay with that.  But having 2 of your 3 TEs in the frail category is not a healthy decision.

 

DY probably needs to be a TE to make the roster.

Boom.  Get it done Bruce.

 

If Lauvao works out and Gettis can step up at LG, I think we have a chance for serious improvement upfront.

 

The biggest reason I have some faith in Lauvao, is that out of all of the Gs on the market, our FO targeted him.  He was obviously their first choice, paying him a nice chunk of change on day one.  Now I know it was predicated on need/price/availability, but they still had to see a lot in him that they liked.  Color me cautiously optimistic.

 

I just hope Lich can hold it down at center.  Now let's grab Clark/Daniels, and go draft the next Skins' superstars. :)

FWIW, in that simulation, I traded back from 34 to 39 with JAX and got their 4th ... and from 66 to 72 with MIN and got their 5th. I went Calvin Pryor, Martavis Bryant, Will Sutton, Keith McGill, Yawin Smallwood, Russell Bodine, DeAnthony Thomas, P Kirby Van Der Kamp ... think that would be pretty sick. I suggest others hop on over there and check it out. That mock was using the fanspeak draft board ... about to do one with a different draft board. FWIW, this one had Pryor fall too.

Anyone have any idea on Cincy's run vs pass ratio?

The reason I am asking, is because we are focused on more dynamic passing threats and we are picking up offensive lineman that seem to be better at pass protection than run blocking.

I would hate to sacrifice our rushing identity, particularly with such a beast that we have in morris.
