KingGibbs
That "wide nine" is the gheyest thing I have ever seen. What did Andy expect giving a guy the DC job that had no business being the DC in the first place.

Koolblue13
What's ironic is that the last good season they had was 2009 with McNabb. Reid should have never dumped McNabb for Vick.McNabb was a perfect QB for that offense. I love this. It's true too. Reid would throw every down if he could and he went and bet everything on one of the worst passing QBs in the league, who wasn't even in the league at the time. GoSkins0721
What did Andy expect giving a guy the DC job that had no business being the DC in the first place. Yeah, I really never understood why Reid made that move. Was he forced to make him the DC by someone above him? It seems Reid could have made this move in the off season after their poor performance last year. I wonder what the internal reaction to this will be? Can the poor defensive play be attributed to Castillo?
Mr. Sinister
I thought that Vick contract was dumb to begin with, after one good season. Lucky for them they have an exit clause. Still, 40 mil guaranteed is ridiculous.
martytheman
So it appears walrus is feeling the flames start to creep up around him.. this is a pure desperation move imo, and reeks of scapegoating... As long as there is discord in the house of bird-brains, I'm happy. Reid needs to bench mr. turnover and fire himself.
ouvan59
Andy Reid blame season has returned. Yep, he throws the DC under the bus in the hope that nobody notices that the offense is the real problem with the Iggles.
sideshow24
So will Reid resign? Why isn't Vick benched? I love not being the least competent team in the division anymore.
Boss_Hogg
I thought that Vick contract was dumb to begin with, after one good season. Lucky for them they have an exit clause. Still, 40 mil guaranteed is ridiculous. Per Adam Schefter: If Vick is on the Eagles roster Feb. 6, 2013, three days after this season’s Super Bowl, $3 million of his nearly $16 million salary becomes fully guaranteed. But if the Eagles opt to release Vick before Feb. 6, 2013, they will not have any financial obligation to him and his contract will come off their salary cap without any charge. This could be Vick's last year in Philly.
Hitman21ST
So the next question is, will the defense get better or worse? This could be Vick's last year in Philly. I just about said "it", then hit myself.
Destino
Eagles defensive rankings: Total Defense: 12th (330.8) Pts/Game: 13th (20.8) Passing Defense: 15th (226.3) Rushing Defense: 15th (104.5) Sacks: 30th (7) Takeaways: 22nd (8) The sacks and the takeaways are the major issue with the defense though it's not exactly a crisis. The major issue with the eagles is obviously the giveaways... Giveaways: 31st (17)
Stophovr6
You guys realize that this is a "save my own ass" move, correct? Totally. I suspect it won't buy him too much more time. I can see a new coach and Qb starting week one 2013.
pointyfootball
Totally. I suspect it won't buy him too much more time. I can see a new coach and Qb starting week one 2013. Good chance, although he'll probably turn it around enough to make the playoffs this year, unless Vick misses time. The division games are the most important, and they're 1-0 there. scruffylookin
This is the walrus flayling away in a last ditch effort to save his job. DogKiller is next and then after trying to save his job by going with the rookie QB and failing, the walrus is gone last but not least. It's fun watching the implosion happen to someone else. It is, luckily for us we get to watch the annual Implosion Extravaganza that is dallas. Every time they lose someone fun to watch on their team they find another jackass to fill the spot. This year it just looks like we get a double helping.
brdawk20
Both sides of the ball are the problem. The Eagles blew 4th quarter leads two weeks in a row. When you have the Lions down by 10 with five minutes to go, you have to win. Juan didn't make good adjustments. Nmadhi had Megatron contained most of the game by pressing him. For some stupid reason, they change up the defense and stop pressing CJ, going into a Tampa 2-style zone. And Vick is just a turnover machine this year. The Eagles could just as easily be 1-5 or 5-1. Something always seems to break down. Were D-Mac and Jim Johnson covering Reid's ass all this time? Do we forget how good those two really were? What do they do then? They can cut Vick and save a ton of money . . . . but who on earth could/would replace him? The Eagles have zero realistic options at QB behind Vick - unless they want to go with Foles and tank. Foles is not winning more than 3-4 games as a starting QB in 2013. The Eagles are about to enter a dark time. As all Redskins fans know . . . without a QB your are ****ed.

brdawk20
I feel bad for Juan though. He's my neighbor. He's a hell of a nice guy and does know a lot about the game. He'll never say it in public, but he knows that he's just the fall guy for the season to this point. If the offense could score a few more points, this probably doesn't happen. He can take the blame for poor scheme or lack of adjustments in the 4th Q, but it's not his fault the game's best left tackle got hurt before teh season, and that the promising up-and-coming center, their second best lineman, is lost for the year. Our new center, Dallas Reynolds blocks like Casey Rabach for Christ's sake. Jonny Unitas wouldn't survive behind the Eagle's line.

They are commended for a little over a decade of having a shot to be in contention pretty much every year, albeit with zilch to show for it, other than coming fairly close, only to have McNabb blow chunks (literally) in crunch time. Times up though. Vick initially saved their asses 2 years ago, otherwise they'd be sucking it up with Kolb.
