TheDoyler23
He's been trying to regain his form for six years now. At this point, got a feeling it's probably not going to happen. Ever.(Not hating) Maybe as a lefty specialist, though. Even when awful, he's always been able to get lefties out.

TheDoyler23
Willis is now a LOOGY...how the mighty have fallen Problem is that he hasn't been mighty since 2005. He's at a point where he'll be out of the league. Make him a long reliever or early guy out of the pen until he's ready for the high leverage situations. Maybe it could work. MattFancy
From Rotoworld: Zach Britton will undergo platelet rich plasma (PRP) treatments to address the inflammation in his left shoulder.Britton went to see Dr. James Andrews for a second opinion on his ailing shoulder, but surgery was ruled out as a possibility. While this is an encouraging development, the young left-hander can essentially be ruled out for the start of the season. Well that's good news. superozman
Saw you Birds picked up Willis: He can't hit a spot to save his life. This spring, many of his strikes the catcher was moving his glove. He had a decent amount of walks, his mistakes that were over the plate were hit hard. I give him his credit for keep trying, hopefully he does become the lefty specialist - because the talent is there. But when he walks the one batter he's supposed to get out - that will get you fired.

I don't expect him to do much of anything. But if we get something out of him, its a plus. Its not like our pitching staff is loaded so we'll take whatever at this point. TheDoyler23
Arrieta for OD starter! Seeing Wheets hit a line drive opposite field homer today makes me think that he's getting closer to his Mauer with power slogan. Ball was hit too hard to get backspin. twenty-eight
http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/index.php/2012-organizational-rankings-30-baltimore/ 2012 Organizational Rankings: #30 – Baltimore by Dave Cameron - March 26, 2012 Read the methodology behind the ratings here. Remember that the grading scale is 20-80, with 50 representing league average. 2012 Outlook: – 31 (29th) The Orioles would be a long shot to be a contender in any division in baseball, as their young pitching hasn’t emerged as they had hoped and they’ve struggled to find good complementary offensive pieces to surround their best young players. As such, this a team that is going to give up a lot of runs and not score enough to compensate. When you add in the level of competition they face in the American League East, it would take something close to the largest miracle in sports history for the Orioles to win their division this season. The addition of a second wild card spot does make it more possible for the Orioles to hope they can play in October again at some point, but that point is not this year. The talent level just isn’t in place to compete with good Major League teams, and in a division with three of the seven best teams in baseball ahead of them, they should consider a 75 win season a success. Rocky21
Thanks for posting that link Matt. I hate how they are always closing off the picnic area to all fans because they have rented it to some group. The new roof top section looks like a copy of the red loft at Nats Park. The new roof top section looks like a copy of the red loft at Nats Park. It's been a trend in stadiums in general. The Red Sox put seats above the wall in left and found a way to charge hundreds for it. Busch stadium has a restaurant above the batters eye, and Cincy has that steamboat thingy. The picnic and standing room in center has been in need of better use besides just the postgame show. It's been long overdue to tie in that location. Being able to actually SEE while in the SRO in right is also a nice touch. That wall is a little high for my comfort even if I'm in the very front. So making that work better is a good idea. So anybody going to opening day?

SuperBash
I have an odd feeling this team finishes close to 500. I think the pitching will be a lot better than people are expecting and the hitting is at least average, maybe above average.

I think the pitching will be a lot better than people are expecting and the hitting is at least average, maybe above average. id like to think we can get around .500 but i dont think the odds are in our favor. the mlb is about pitching lately, and we just dont have it. it's unreasonable to think that one of the youngins will have a dominant ace season. id say a couple starters with era's in the low 3's is about as good as we can realistically hope for right now. but there is plenty of potential and the starting pitcher isnt necessarily stronger, but it is deeper than last year. the bullpen (which is improved) should help out.. i think tommy hunter is going to have a good season, especially if he is near the back of the rotation. And the politically correct term for that place today is a bar but Babe Ruth grew up in a whorehouse. Which is pretty ****in' cool.
