pjfootballer
apology accepted.....group hug: It wasn't really an apology, but I have no more beef with you. I just wish that was the next picture in October after a WS win, but that isn't happening anytime soon. BTW, I did like the "Schneider" picture because he did mispell Snyders name. I chuckled. @DCGoldPants
The O's should own Baltimore.....and even as a Nats fan its kind of a bummer to see them like this. Even just two wildcard teams meeting each year for two series. It would be awesome.

Rocky21
Miguel Tejada (young bonafide star and former MVP) was the biggest signing in team history. In team history? I don't think I'd go that far with Tejada.
capcrunch98
In team history? I don't think I'd go that far with Tejada. Which other free agent acquisition do you think was bigger at the time of signing? Tejada was one of baseball's premier shortstops, young and healthy, and less than 2 years removed from being named AL MVP. Even if the Orioles had signed Pujols or Fielder this summer, or Texeira two years ago, it wouldn't have been as big as when they signed Miggy simply because he was in the prime of his career and was projected by most to be an elite SS for another 5 - 7 years. MattFancy
Maybe Tejada wasn't the biggest in the history of the team, but its definitely been the biggest of the last 10-15 years. Maybe biggest in history would be Alomar or Palmeiro?

Hard to argue with any of those three guys. At any rate, the signing of Tejada was big and a lot of people were taking the O's as a sleeper pick for a wild card in 2004. So in that regard, I'd say that team did look good "on paper".
G.A.C.O.L.B.
Maybe biggest in history would be Alomar or Palmeiro? I've always thought of Belle as the biggest FA signing in O's history. That was ****ing epic at the time. So much buzz and he became the highest-paid player in the league iirc

So much buzz and he became the highest-paid player in the league iirc The enthusiasm of signing the original Fat Albert was tempered by (1) he was already into his 30s and most people believed he would soon be past his prime, and (2) he was a first-rate a-hole and locker room cancer. I remember thinking at the time: "we'll be lucky to get one good year out of him". Sure enough, that's exactly what he gave us.

G.A.C.O.L.B.
Wow, he looks REALLY old for someone still in his 40's. But yeah, not a free agent signing but I remember a TON of hype behind Glenn Davis going to the O's
pjfootballer
Belle was the biggest FA signing in terms of dollars and what he was supposed to bring. Then Tejada. Glenn Davis was actually a trade in which we gave up Pete Harnish, Steve Finley and Curt Shilling. Biggest robbery job of all time. I hate Glenn Davis to this day...and Albert "Joey" Belle. twenty-eight
At least we're not still paying Belle ... like the Mets are with Bobby Bo.
KingGibbs
The pitcher the O's just signed to a minor league Josh Banks is a family friend. His parents are excited at the prospect of hopping in the car for a short drive to Camden and seeing Josh pitch. It would be awesome to personally know someone on the O's. capcrunch98
Best of luck to him. It's always cool to see a guy get the chance to play for his hometown team, and the Orioles certainly need all the help they can get on the mound.
sportjunkie07
i believe we have 2 pitchers with a positive w/l and under 4 career ERA. theyre both relievers.. we havent made any big moves this season, but i think our bullpen is better than last year, which is a start. dylan bundy is legit.
