Lar0n Landry
i don't awant to be mr doom and gloom after a W, but Orakpo hasn't impressed me at all this season and he was 1 on 1 vs Peters all day and not once did he generate pressure. For all the hype he gets he sure doesn't make very many impact plays. If it wasn' for that 4 sack game against the Raiders last year i think more poeple would realize how non impressive he actually is. sure he will get a sack every other 3 games, but they are meaningless sacks and not at crucial points in the game and he doesn't make game impacting plays. Also he is terrible in space. pretty sad that Kevin Kolb can outrun him with ease. I just don't understand the hype this guy gets when he isn't that good of player. he is a pure pass rusher and he isn't even good at doing that that on a consistent basis. again, 1 on 1 all game and not a single sack or even pressure on Kolb. yes he was held twice but great pass rushers get sacks and pressure even when held. clskinsfan
He forced 2 holding calls today. Nuff said.
redskins59
The problem is, he doesn't have many moves.
RonArtest15
he gets held SO much....sometimes the 10 yard holding penalty > sack
WhodatSkinsFan?
No, the problems is he gets put into CHOKE HOLDS every other play.... when not being choked, he has hands under his jersey!
WhodatSkinsFan?
he gets held so much....sometimes the 10 yard holding penalty > sack exactly!!!!!
I_Bleed_B&G
He hasn't impressed me either. He has no speed and it does look like he runs with a stick up his ass. Could be that he is too muscular or he is hurt or something. Just haven't been impressed with his play.

Weak post. Orakpo is heavily responsible for BOTH of our wins. He forced holding calls that ended potential game-winning drives in both wins. MSJHWT
Are we watching the same team? Rak is constantly forcing holding calls or generating throws under pressure...
Birdlives
He's generating holding calls consistently. Not sure what you're watching, but he looks pretty good to me.
lilty1975
Dude, look at the game, look how many times he is being held. Most of the time it doesn't get called, but he gets held alot. Everytime he beats someone with the speed rush they grab him. To me a holding penelty is like a sack. HTTR.......
Backpack3r
WTF @ this topic. God damn ES finds a way to complain about everything. Orakpo is one of the best players on our team
Skins_Fan82
he gets held SO much....sometimes the 10 yard holding penalty > sack dude, there are SO many missed holding calls on Rak. every game.
Main-Maine
No, I seen Orakpo generating plenty of pressure today. The previous poster was right about the holding penalties to Orakpo that would have been sacks.
I_Bleed_B&G
Yes he does get held but so does every other player in the league. He just isn't that impact player that comes up big at crucial moments. Maybe he will be but not yet
Burgold
There was one play where Kolb outraced Orakpo to the corner and then took it upfield for a ten yard gain. That shocked me. I wonder if he is suffering a bit of a sophmore slump. He's still good, but he needs to up his game a notch.
HailinginSeattle
Excuse me, did you watch the game? How many holding penalties did he get called against him? Ten yards a pop, just as good as a sack, and had they not held him he would've got sacks on those plays.
CRogersGuy
He's not terrible by any means. The holds he generates alone make him a good LB. I do think he's overrated though - definitely has some major flaws. Like you said, he's awful in space. He doesn't have many moves other than a bullrush and he's pretty bad on his feet. It gets kind of frustrating seeing him run 10 yards behind the QB before he can finally put the brakes on and turn around.
hatethe cowboys
Are we watching the same team? Rak is constantly forcing holding calls or generating throws under pressure... Exactly. Haslett values holds just as much as sacks.
Dukes and Skins
Not only is Orakpo generating holding calls but Orakpo still has gotten sacks and gotten pressure on the QB. This D is still a work in progress and he's been playing fine no doubt about it
tshile
he's impressed me. a hold is as good as a sack in my opinion. i hope he keeps it up.
Laxpunk2006
Orakpo's pass rushing isn't what worries me. He is obviously effective there because he is forcing so many holding penalties. Orakpo worries me more in the run game when I see him failing to wrap up properly. It's a weakness in his game but every player has them and he'll continue to improve as he becomes more comfortable. Just because a pass rusher isn't getting sacks doesn't mean they aren't doing their job.
RenegadeTK
I completely disagree. He got 2 holding calls, and should've had AT LEAST 2 more. Plus you have to factor in the fact that he would have hit Kolb on his blind side, possibly causing a fumble. His impact is there. I love the kid. Ruff Stuff
Idk I kinda agree. He pretty much disappeared when Kolb came in, and gave up on that long run play by Kolb. I agree with lax. Good rusher but he's missin some tackles that he needs to wrap up.
Lar0n Landry
ok guys i understand thathe is held a lot. but elite pass rushers find a way to get sacks even when being held. you think freeny, peppers, ware, matthews etc aren't being held every play also?
