Anderson is just a guy. Having him coming off the bench isn't bad but he's not the reason this team gets better or worse. Ernie set this offseason up to remake the roster with a big addition. If he can't deliver he'd better pull an incredible bench unit out of thin air and an ace defensive center to cover the sloppy defense that guys like Anderson will bring.

Even that would at best put us in the "who loses to Cleveland" discussion. Without the star, who isn't even going to meet with him, the hope is merely to become a treadmill team again. Ernie created big expectations...

Anderson is an odd talent. A PF who can flirt with a 20 PER despite not rebounding. He's also weird in that, for a spot up three ball shooter, he doesn't seem to have a favorite spot. He shoots about as well from everywhere beyond the arc.

He's got some scoring tools too. He can get buckets off the dribble. He has a decent mid range game and he attacks closeouts and finishes at the basket like SF. He is a much better shooter and scorer than Ariza and Dudley were, and he is a true four. I'd like to see what the John Wall effect can do to his percentages. I think he could finish top five in 3 pt % and top 10 in made threes.

Wall has said repeatedly that he wants another star, he's watching Ernie. After standing pat the last 2 years and not even getting a meeting with KD, you can't go into next season with Ryan Anderson as your best signing and expect Wall to be happy.

Durant was the guy to put us in discussions with the big boys to compete for a championship.

This is a star run league. The rest of the names all of you mention will not have us competing for a title. Sure, we'll get better, but no matter the combination of any of those guys, we won't compete for titles.

Did anyone think Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, and Kawhi Leonard would end up being stars until they were?

I think you have to commit to the young players you draft, build the best team around them that you possibly can, and then hope they eventually develop into the stars you need to lead your team.

I dont know if I can handle Kanter's porn 'stache an entire year.

But if you told me we could come out of this offseason with Kanter, Crabbe, Sato, and mayyyyyybe Anderson. I would consider it a pretty good plan B. Still would rather have Whiteside.

But if nabbing Kanter revolves around trading Otto/Oubre. A big hell no from me.

Noah is expected to sign with the Knicks for 18 million per year plus raises.

This is such a ****ty time to go shopping ugh.

Knicks are really trying to build a contender for the 2012 season aren't they?  Rose, Noah, and 32 year old Melo in his 15th season.  Probably means Jackson is trying to get people into the Garden and keep his job.  Can't really fault that, basketball is a business.

I just checked the Knicks have five players under contract for next season, including Rose.  7 if you count Noah and Marshall Plumlee (undrafted free agent).  Phil Jackson really has some work to do.

OKC is looking to trade Enes Kanter for cap space so they can go after Horford. If that report is true, we could get him for nothing because we have the room to make an unbalanced trade.

Make the deal Ernie.

Careful what you wish for.  If Ernie makes the deal, we'll be hearing about how Kanter is really our 2017 first round pick.  Also his contract is not small, not sure if Kanter and Gortat works.  Between Kanter's 17 million and Beal's 20 million there would be very little left to fill out the roster, and the only bench player we have under contract is Oubre.

Please see bolded words.

Two problems there.  One, I think the city and the fans have had enough hope to last 38 years.  I can make a long list of rookies that we've drafted since 1980 and NONE of them have become top 5 start players in the league, despite being in the lottery practically every year since 1985.  Two, what's this develop word you just threw out?  When the hell have we every taken a rookie and developed them into a star player?

I know your next line will be Brooks develops players.  We can only hope.

The problem i see with Kanter though is that he is pretty much a more athletic version of Marcin. But really, they are pretty much the same guy; agile pick and roll big man that can run the floor. Thats not going to win you many more games because it doesnt fix any of the holes that caused losses in the first place. i.e. interior defense/presence. He's better at rebounding for sure, but his defense is still subpar and was masked by Adam's individual brilliance.

well he is an NBA GM, so he should try to look for those diamonds in the rough and develop them.

He just dont do a good job of it.
