Well that was a game of 2 halves. Utterly dominant the first. Had to dog it out the second and all credit to Leicester for the second half showing. But dog it out they did for 4 wins out of 4 to open a season for the first time in nearly 3 decades. 9 scored. 1 conceded. City left looking up at us going into the break. First objective of the season attained and boxed whilst being nowhere near our best all 4 games. With two of the hardest aways at Palace and Leicester taken care of.

Another reminder to City that it’s ON! This gang of Reds are going NOWHERE!

Note on Alisson ..... Glad that’s happened early and at 2-0 so it wasn’t costly. Hopefully it’ll encourage more teams to press high on him and expose them more to be hit going the other way. Added a completely different dimension to our game with his feet. Setting the tempo pinging it all over. Mistakes are gonna’ happen but you just have to shrug your shoulders like the team and quickly forget it. The good in him FAR outweighs the bad and his ability as a footballer is why he was our top choice over Oblak. Like Edison at City, he fits how we want to play and evolve further. Zero mistakes leading to chances (let alone goals) in Serie A or Europe last year. That’s how bloody good and composed he is with a ball ar his feet.

Just like Brucie Grobbelaar he’s gonna take some time to get used to. But as he’s WC good like Bruce, the payoff is MORE than worth it.

Up the Perfect Reds!

Hail.

Mooching round social media before I turn in there’s some proper miserable ****s around.

If yers gonna’ find things to nark about and not be absolutely buzzing at the Reds starting with 12 out of 12, whilst still not getting out of third gear, with two of the hardest aways done to the max already; then honestly football is NOT the sport for you! So the goalie F up? He’s the new Brucie Grobbelaar and he’s big and F boss. Mistakes happen. Deal with it!

Stop tweeting ****e like we’re The Ev mired in mediocrity and start bloody enjoying being a fan of this special gang of Reds.

‘L’pool, Top the League. L’pool, L’pool Top the League!’

These Beasley pieces after every match are becoming essential reading.

Didn’t realise we were as utterly dominant defensively at Leicester as we were. Funny how perception watching to actual reality can skew your eyes view.

Guess it’s similar to someone like Gini where you have to be at the match to see the whole pitch to see what he does that you don’t get on the smaller area telly view.

van Dijk has been worth his weight in gold, let alone his price tag. Huge benefit to Joe Gomez too as a calming influence for younger center back.

On another note, as abrasive as Mourinho is, there's something off-putting about thin skinned players that pout and lose their confidence when he comes down on them which seems to be the norm now a days. His man management style became outdated years ago, and there was no player he was harder on than Luke Shaw, who could have easily sulked himself into a move elsewhere, but he kept his head down and continued to fight for his place. Admirable IMO and he deserves the short burst of success on the pitch he's had recently. Hope it continues.

Hail.

Just back from Michigan, now in an empty nest, and tremendously proud of my young ladies. Now, onto the post match:

Nice piece from Beasley. Can be truly remarkable how the stats belie what the eyes see. Think many were tied in knots the Alisson howler, they had expectations of more failure teamwide, but this is a quality Red’s defense, as the numbers indicate. Gomez was sensational, and Van Dijk gets criticized when he’s not perfect, as he has set such a high standard. Personally, I thought that Shaqiri and Keita brought much needed energy and hard work into the side when they came on, and were a top reason the Reds saw the game out with relative ease.

Individually, I thought Hendo looked a bit off the pace (I’m not a fan of he, Milly, and Gini together, need a Lallana or Keita for one, to help press and link the attack), and I thought Trent had another loose and erratic showing. Can’t argue with 12 points from the first 4, no matter how they’re acquired. Think rotation is on the horizon though, especially with the tough lot of matches upcoming, and I’d expect to see quite a bit more of Clyne, Fabinho, Keita, Lallana, Shaqiri, and Sturridge in the near future.

Keep grinding you Reds!

Made up for Andy Robbo being the new permy Scotland captain. Seems a really nice lad:

Mad to think of all the fume last summer when he arrived on what was in effect a freebie from Hull. To now being widely recognised as one of the top LB’s in the PL with his mega consistent performances both ends the park, home and abroad, since he got the gig full time last October/ November.

We were discussing this earlier. That’s what, Robbo, van Dijk, Keita, Big Shaq all captains of their Country. Along with Klavan being the Estonian captain when Klopp signed him. Grujic captaining the biggest club in his Country to a league title as a teenager. Gini the same with PSV in Holland.

For a club with a ‘perceived’ lack of leaders, we sure are prioritising leadership in our recruitment.

Absolutely on van Dijk. And Alisson behind him. I think we’ve got the most laid back CH/ GK combo there’s ever been. Could do without the mad Cruyff turns though. ?

Couldn’t agree more on Shaw. Made up for him personally to be back the England squad. If anyone deserves some much needed luck it’s him after all the terribly unlucky serious injuriy that’s curtailed his short career to date. Along with the treatment he’s gotten from his manager as you mentioned.

A fully healthy and firing Like Shaw ..... Not many better LB’s around.

Hail.

Talking captains above, absolutely made up to see Jordan Henderson extend for another 5 years today. That only really leaves Sadio and Trent left out of the squad but with both having 3 years left on their current deals, no rush there. Great security going forward the next 5 years or so at least to have everyone nailed down long term with no pesky release clauses.

Thoroughly deserved for a tremendous servant and vitally important player not just on the pitch with his vast experience but more so in the changies as a proper leader with the respect and plove he has from the rest of the lads. Really can’t be understated at all just what Jordan brings off the pitch and how integral he is to the whole dynamic of a squad as closely knit as this one is. Completely embodies the hard work/ top character ethos that Klopps worked so hard to instill right through the football club.

Here’s to you (hopefully) lifting many pieces of silverware going forward skip! Our time is just beginning again.

Topical piece for the International break from last week, after Mo’s 4 heartfelt video messages, as to the whole gravity of the mess with him being used as a political pawn by the Egyptian Government/ FA and him just wanting to protect his private life out of the limelight and do what he believes in.

Well researched and informative from Si Hughes.

Well this is the very LAST thing I thought I’d EVER be talking about/ posting on ....

A fascinating and real informative read on L’pool’s new Danish THROW-IN COACH!!!!!

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/amp/football/45405476?__twitter_impression=true

Who knew there was so much into taking a throw-in? ?

Another example of how uber professional the modern game has gotten with no stone left unturned to gain the smallest advantage with all the ridiculous financial rewards at play.

Great to see The Man, The Myth, The Living LEG-END Joe MF Gomez! getting National recognition in a slew of pieces the past week or so on the gem Liverpudlians have always known about.

To think people were seriously crying for silly money to be waisted on an Alderweireld or the like to partner big Virge when we had his long term partner here already. Sky generation footy fans. No patience. SMH.

Piece on the Fabinho situation lil’ bro.

Gini’s continued rebirth aside, a little more on him being too defensively minded from what he’s used to the more expansive game we play.

Saw him play fullback the other night vs the MNT.  He's a dramatic player in the area isn't he? lol

That makes sense, then... My thought was that he had to loosen up a bit before playing since he was booked so much in the preseason.
