China
Lots of years have lots of good music. For example, 1973: Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon The Who - Quadrophenia Led Zeppelin - Houses of the Holy Black Sabbath - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath Elton John - Goobye Yellow Brick Road Yes - Yessongs There were lots of other good music that came out that year, so I'll list them as honorable mentions: Wings - Band on the Run David Bowie - Alladin Sane and Pin Ups Lynyrd Skynyrd - Pronounced Leh-nerd Skin-herd Little Feat - Dixie Kitchen Bachman Turner Overdrive - BTO II Aerosmith - Aerosmith Rolling Stones - Goats Head Soup Alice Cooper - Billion Dollar Babies
DCSaints_fan
While not Van Halen's best work, For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge was also released in 1991 and is a decent album. Funny how that year was simultaneously a good year for hard rock and the grunge/alternative style which largely overtook it.
DCSaints_fan
Oh yeah and as for '67 that year was insane. Pet Sounds - Beach Boys Sgt. Pepper - Beatles Are You Experienced - Hendrix The Doors - The Doors The Piper At The Gates of Dawn - Pink Floyd And probably a few more I'm missing

zoony
For me, I would have to put it out there for 80 as well. Bands like Minor Threat, Dag Nasty, Descendents, Dead Kennedy's, Circle Jerks, Misfits, Blag Flag. Punk Rock was full swing and unbelievable. I'll always have a soft spot for that era, it was truly special. The greatest thing, it was all fueled by teenagers. Promotion done by kids with leaflets, records recorded in basements, etc. No big money

RyansRangers
Certainly not this year, that's for sure.I'm talking about 1991. Metallica - Black Album Guns n Roses - Use Your Illusion I and II Red Hot Chili Peppers - Blood Sugar Sex Magik Pearl Jam - Ten Nirvana - Nevermind U2 - Achtung Baby Tribe Called Quest - Low End Theory You could probably put 1967 or 1968 up against this...and right now, I'm too lazy to look. But thats a pretty impressive collection of music to be released in one year. What do you guys think? I would agree with this list if you look at the bands on this list most are still touring and one would be if he hadnt killed himself also you forgot these releases 1991 Green Day Kerplunk REM outta time Tom Petty Great wide open
REDSKINZ-RIDEORDIE
Tribe Called Quest - Low End Theory I was just about to hate on this thread until I got down to one of the GREATEST hiphop albums EVER. I LOVE that album. I still bump it sometimes on the way home from work. I had the pleasure of meeting Tribe Called Quest (Jarobi included) this past summer when I went to the Rock The Bells concert at the Merriweather Post Pavillion this past summer, Q-Tip cool as hell. They have an EXCELLENT show. They did like the entire Low End Theory album. Major Propz on the Tribe shout out :applause::applause::applause: The Low End Theory isn't one of the best hip hop albums ever, it's one of the best ALBUMS ever. Period. So innovative in bringing jazz and hip hop together. It can be found on every greatest albums ever list. It was a great concert indeed, lucky you had VIP tickets. When you have legendary jazz bassist Ron Carter coming in to record live you know you did something right.

Ignatius J.
Every time I see Mr. Nostril in a music thread I just end up nodding my head. 1977 - you forgot iggy pop lust for life, both 1977. Often not considered as great as the idiot, but yet i like it better. Also, to someone who mentioned 1967, summer of love, beach boys pet sounds was 1966 not 1967. deejaydana
You can also add Lenny Kravitz Mama Said Naughty by Nature self titled Why would you want to add Lenny Kravitz? Just ribbing you but the guy is SERIOUSLY over-rated and always has been. He's been doing the same record for, um, 15+ years. He never evolves but somehow he keeps his record contract. Try Ben Harper, he's better by a multiple of 10.
