GSP public persona is strange.  He seems to really want to project a overtly good guy image and I can't decide why that is.  It doesn't help market him, and it doesn't seem to be a religious thing.  Best I can come up with is that he's either too Canadian for his own good or his parents are the sort of people that frown as a form of communication.

He is genuinely a nice guy.

Last night's ppv was one of the best in recent memory.  Three championship fights and all of them good ones.  None of them particularly great fights in their own right, but upsets are exciting, and together they make for a great card.

ufc has to accept that they are in a "less is more" era right now

they are oversaturating the market with fights and its making me care considerably less. there is a considerable talent gap within the roster now.  the top level is as good as its ever been, but most of the **** they put out now might as well be random computer generated characters on a game

GSP isn't fighting any of the actual killers at 185.  You can bank on it.  There have long been talks that GSP worked over Bisping multiple times back in the day when they worked out together and trained.  He picked his spot.  Kudos to him, but make no mistake, 185 is not where GSP belongs and you could see it in the fight.

He will most likely move back down to 170lbs.

Quote

Conor McGregor jumped the cage fence to celebrate with his teammate Charlie Ward after he dispatched John Redmond in the final seconds of the first round at Bellator 187 in Dublin on Friday night.

Immediately after the fight was called off, McGregor, who was not a licensed cornerman, excitedly jumped in the cage to celebrate with Ward. Referee Marc Goddard, who has a history with McGregor, immediately told him to leave the cage, which appeared to upset McGregor.

McGregor, who seemed to take exception with Goddard telling him to leave and touching his chest, then shouted back at Goddard and eventually shoved Goddard as he was checking on Redmond, who was still kneeling on the mat. Goddard did not shove McGregor back. Moments later, McGregor was escorted out and left the cage on his own.

that double standard about to be so real

the **** is wrong with that guy?

and also knocked over the guy still recovering from a knockout

Glad someone mentioned it.  That was the worst part of the whole thing in my opinion.  Shoving and generally ****ty behavior by friends and hangers on of fighters isn't exactly unheard of in fight sports.  Trampling a downed fighter while doing these things however, is a rare achievement.

friends and hangers on don't jump over the cage to congratulate their guy either.  he wasn't apart of their corner, he doesn't do that, none of this other **** happens

Holloway vs Aldo 2 official for 218 with Edgar hurt

Aldo is one of my favorite fighters ever, hope he doesn't get hurt too bad, but his time has passed.  Chins don't get better with age and it seems that Nova Uniao as a camp, one that is notorious for their hard sparring sessions, has seen a general downturn in all of their fighters

Slow in here, Anderson Silva is out of his fight against Gastelum because of a potential USADA doping violation, and Bisping has taken the fight against Gastelum. Here is to hoping Gastelum ko's bisping.

Bisping got dropped by a good shot, ate about 10 elbows, then got chocked unsconscious

how is he fighting 3 weeks later?

Joe Lauzon should retire.

Ha. That's interesting.

When I looked at this card before it happened, I counted a half-dozen guys, just on the MAIN card,( which ended up being half the fighters), that could realistically either retire after this fight, or get cut by the UFC, or bolt for Bellator. Like some sort of Retirement Bonanza.

For that reason, I lost interest in the card, and didn't watch it.

But of all those fighters who were maybe on the verge of the end, Lauzon was not one of them. But Guida was.

So I have to disagree with your statement, for several reasons. Lauzon is 2 years younger than Guida, He's body has endured 10 less battles than Guida. And his record (before last night) was actually better than Guida's, over the last 10 fights. And in those 10 fights, Guida also suffered more knockouts than Lauzon.

But even tho I leaned towards Guida being near the end, I like him and I'm a fan. So I was glad to see him get his first KO/TKO, in over 9 years.
