They also seemed to lay the foundation for multiple plot lines so hopefully they get a chance to develop it. That being said, based on the plot they did lay down, how long can they make the show run? Stugein Posted September 18, 2013 Share Posted September 18, 2013 I enjoyed it. Cool premise, fun story. A little ham-handed on the initial delivery, but still a good time. I'm kind of tentative though on getting too into it because I'm not sure how they're going to be able to stretch this story out for more than a season or two, realistically. Riggo-toni Posted September 19, 2013 Share Posted September 19, 2013 The Book of Revelations mentions a godly multitude of 144000. And you're right, it is, I believe, tied to 12000 from 12 tribes. The significance is ambiguous - Jehovah's Witnesses take it to mean that only 144000 end up in heaven, while the rest of the faithful enjoy life on a paradisical earth (and the wicked are killed). TD_washingtonredskins Posted September 19, 2013 Share Posted September 19, 2013 I was very excited for the show and watched over the past couple days. I like the premise and think it could be cool. They definitely introduced a lot though. It has American folklore, religion, and supernatural influences which could make it tough to follow (a witch cast a spell to awaken Ichabod in order to help keep the first horsman from ending the world...). I'll keep up with it for a while, but I think I would have preferred if they set the tone by starting much slower. I was hpoing for a show loaded with Revolutionary war tidbits and apocalyptic allusions, but instead it felt like an episode of Charmed. Still, the 2 lead actors are exceptional. Yeah, it didn't have the same punch as the premiere. I think there is enough there for this show to be a regular for me.
