Nah.  They don’t have a 2nd rounder.  Trading away another mid round pick isn’t in their best interests.  They’ll sign Darnold in FA and look to rebuild.  They also lost their original 4th in a draft day trade from last year.  If anything, they’ll continue to trade vets to accrue more picks

No one is giving up a 2nd rounder for Sam.

If someone trades for Sam, they will give at best a 4th rounder.

I can't believe how little news there is about Travis Henry. Guys been the best back in the league for years and it's not close.

Jacobs is a stud.

Barkley can **** in his hand for all I care.

Sheehan just interviewed Standig on Commanders plans.

A few jumbled notes.  *Note: Spelling of names was pure guesswork.

We're not going to be doing any crazy spending like the early Snyder years.

No old guy looking for one last big payday  signings--

UNLESS ITS A 1 YR DEAL OR EASILY VOIDS TO ONE YEAR

Remember they can carryover excess cap to next year when they may be ready to make a real run to the playoffs. First year may be more selective to preserve flexibility in the future.

**Expect them to spend on at least 1 or 2 first day guys, maybe more.

Possibly young DE today

(Bryce huff- was someone they wanted during the combine but looks like Philly is going to get him.

Jonathon Grinard Texans DE had 12 Sacks last yr-- Big target for us.

Dallas guys of interest--
Armstrong DE
Dante Fowler
Jordan Lewis

Possible RBs we might go after if we lose Gibson--
Devin Singletary
Zack moss

Receiver--
We want more height/size but not major priority for first day.

Mentioned WR Noah Brown 6' 2" from Texans

Likely going for a vet center today.

He didn't mention any specific names (or if he did I missed them).

On resigning our own free agents--
Mentioned Resigning Cornelious Lucas as swing tackle a priority.

Safety Fuller gone

WR Samuels is likely gone even though he would be great in this offense.

Mentioned possibly resigning Jacoby Brisset depending on what their plans are for Sam Howell.

But for most part at this point focus is on fresh players. Breaking with past.

Eh the way he is going he's going to be Dan Marino in the stats category.. Dan never got a ring but he is in the HoF

Dan was also a generational talent, won an MVP, broke a ton of passing records, played for a legendary coach, and is still a god in Miami.

He's a little old for my taste.

Once they hit 40 its all down hill from there.

Tell me about it. Wait until you hit 50.

I'm not doing it, I refuse. 😁

I'm assuming you missed the typo though, you obviously meant to say Derrick Henry not Travis henry.

I personal hope we don’t overpay for Biadasz. I’m not convinced he’s quite the talent being touted.

I agree with you.  I would have preferred Morse, even Glasgow.  I'd rather have cush on a more expensive deal than TB.  I just have a feeling if we sign TB we will think center is solidified but it will be anything but, and I'd rather have someone more dependable for the rookie.

Get me some of the Baltimore guys, OL Simpson and DB Geno Stone.

Rebuild the interior OL to protect the rookie. Add another vet TE as insurance.

Purge the Pukes of the Quinn/Whitt disciples too.

We need to spend. The salary cap doesn’t just limit spend, it makes you spend up to a certain limit. Even though that salary cap ‘floor’ is over a rolling period, with a rookie QB situation looming we’ve got to wave some cash about. What better time than today :ols:

I think you have to spend 90% of the cap. This was changed a few years ago to prevent teams like Bengals from

not spending.

Best thing about hitting your 80's is half the time you can't remember how old you are anyway.

You actually watched sammy Baugh play live didn't you?

Yeah that would have been my guess, I seemed to think that was over a 3 years rolling period.

Yep Cushenberry would be my choice too.

I wasn’t implying Sam is worth a 2nd (he isn’t).  Rather, because Denver lacks a 2nd, they are even less inclined to trade draft picks later on for any player

Wait, you're in your 80's and know how to use a computer? That's amazing.

For reasons that are not appropriate to discuss on the forum I didn't become a fan of the Redskins or see a game live until after they signed Bobby Mitchell.

Just an opinion of mine but I like draft pedigree when it comes to free agents.

It's not to say that undrafted free agents can't have outstanding second and third contracts but that I believe they are more likely to bust in their second location.

Huff was undrafted, doesn't have much career production and played in an elite system with elite coaching.

All red flags to me on being as much a product of his system as his talent.

So your methodology also means Uche will bust right?

Uche played on comparable to better defenses than Huff.

Uche has worse production than Huff.

  • Uche 18.5 sacks, 31 QB hits, 0 passes defensed
  • Huff 17.5 sacks, 43 QB hits, 3 passes defensed

The only thing that benefits Uche to you, is that he was a 2nd rounder. But shouldn't that hurt him given he's a 2nd rounder that can't outperform an undrafted guy?
