Braeden Daniels is an extremely athletic, explosive tackle. People project him to guard but I think he’s a tackle. Really good player. I like him a lot. But another need reach. Like the player. Abhor the strategy.

Posted this yesterday before day 2, updated with who I think is left on the board from our visits. Guard and LB seems inevitable.

Top 30 Visits

Atonio Mafi, OG, UCLA (source)

Terrell Smith, CB, Minnesota (source)

Kyle Soelle, LB, Arizona State (source)

Braeden Daniels, G, Utah (source)

Keidron Smith, CB, Kentucky (source)

Ben VanSumeren, LB, Michigan State (source)

Brycen Tremayne, WR, Stanford (source)

Mason Brooks, OC, Mississippi (source)

Sidy Sow, OG, Eastern Michigan (source)

Ok so we are 4/4 on top 30 visits :ols:

Soelle will be another later, I’m feeling confident on that.

Damn it. I really like Daniels, too. Mentioned him this morning as a want.

God, I had to read that twice just to be sure it said want.

Terelle Smith would be great from that list.

Agree, took him in the ES mock for the Vikes.

He's a player I talked about on and off on the draft thread, one of my favorites in that 3rd tier -- but as a guard not as a tackle.

Funny i was listening to their ESPN wrap up, billing his run blocking versus pass protect.  I remember it the opposite.  I just looked at his PFF grades, good to see am not crazy, they agreed with me on it.    Much better scores in pass protect.

He’s very smooth in pass pro.

I never commented on him much because I thought he was going to go in these middle rounds (more likely 5th) and I thought we’d have our OL put together by now.

But he is smooth as butter in pass pro. Thing is I like him as a run blocker, too. He’s pretty lean, though. Size was my concern. Seems to be a theme.

We're gonna end up with 7 players kdawg loves and a D minus grade.

It’s possible. I really hate the way we are drafting and building strategically. It just doesn’t maximize potential.

But like I’ve said, I think our scouts and Rivera do a really nice job finding talent and getting it in burgundy, gold and black.
