It's going to be appealed to Court of Appeals and then to SCOTUS.

Yes, and Thomas in the recent immunity ruling signaled that he would back Cannon in ruling that the Special Counsel is unconstitutional.  Even  if it is ruled unconstitution, which would contradict 50 years of precedent, the DOJ can pursue the case without a Special Counsel.

Our fellow American's don't care about this level of crime and corruption.  She literally is angling to replace Justice Thomas.  Everyone who handles classified interests knows they would be in jail.  This is 10x worse than what Hillary was accused of.

Yet, it's fine.  We can't enforce the law against their "Dear Orange Leader".

...

And just throw everything I thought about the Special Consel away.  When Trump is elected, he will just have his AG do away with the Special Counsel, since Congress actually never renewed the Special Counsel law post-Clinton.  Not that it would really matter anyway.

So it's all political Calvinball and there is no "rule of law" in America.

But not really. Trump isn't known for repaying anyone who does him a favor. Only thoose who continue to kiss his 🍊 🫏.

Well, to be fair, if Trump is elected, he’ll go through 4 or 5 AGs, so Cannon being one of those isn’t far fetched.

He'll probably appoint her to the Supreme Court and not AG.

It’s going to get overturned on appeal and be kicked back down to this same judge again. This is a giant display of how poorly our government is designed to deal with corruption. The Americans system doesn’t even acknowledge this as corruption, because we narrowly define that is pay for a specific favor. But corruption is what this is, and this is the most common form seen around the world. It’s what it means to “own a judge.” Assembling an array of people in key positions that will help you do whatever the group needs is how every corrupt system operates.

Feels like another slowdown tactic to me too.

Trumps judge is helping him, and has been this entire time, and there’s no obvious way to do anything about it at all. There’s not even an obvious means or mechanism for investigating it. Our government is once again showing that it’s held together by the honor system and is unprepared for the challenges that it faces.

what for example is the reason a future politician would not try to nominate more judges like Aileen Cannon? So far it’s proven nothing but gain to Trump with zero downside. This establishes a clear benefit. What’s the opposite action to discourage this? Nothing.

If it gets overturned and kicked back down to Cannon, I think this may be the straw that breaks the camel's back and Jack Smith will seek to have her recuse herself or go to her bosses at the 11th circuit and have her removed from the case, as the demonstration of bias will be overwhelming.

Who cares. When Trump is elected, he can drop the case.  As much as I wish I could say, "No man is above the law".  I guess if you commit crimes as a former President and get elected, you can stop all investigation and prosecution of yourself.

How is this not banana republic ****.  I was even willing to give Cannon the benefit of the doubt.  **** these judges, like Thomas and Alito and even Chief Justice Roberts.  It's just Calvinball.  "Heads, I wish, tails, you lose."

"Originalism says I can do whatever I want."

We are paid off and we don't give a ****.  Because you won't even impeach Thomas fo his corrupt ****.  "If you are backed by the right people, you can get away with it."  And these ****ers are gonna march right into power again in November.  Like who is paying attention believing these lies?

Trump committed a black and white Federal crime. And he will get sent back to the Presidency.  Why?  Why is he their political pied piper?  This piece of ****?

you have far more hope left than I. I don’t think they’ll do a thing other than keep playing this ridiculous little game.

That is the least of my concerns 😂

If you haven’t read the root of evil, I recommend it.

America’s got all the markers listed for roots that lead to committing genocide or mass killings.

Who is the author? Couple books with that name.

It reads more like a research paper than a book. Sort of a cross of the two. I think it’s good.

group think vs individual vs system and then all the different compounding factors (mental discomfort, economic discomfort, rhetoric, etc)

interesting way to look at things and there’s a lot of all of it going on.

I know we focus almost exclusively on what the republicans are trying to do here but they are 1 part of a complicated equation.

Continuing to see way more focus on this being the thing that gets Cannon off the case

It’s always felt that was her end goal all along. She gets to delay the case as payback for her appointment, then get thrown off so she’s not personally endangered… like all the other justices.

To @Chinapoint - the timing required to go through this process means January at best it’s backs in front of her. Which means she doesn’t even have to start trial before Inauguration Day. Which means there never is a trial.

whether she’s doing it as a favor to Trump or to protect herself, won’t really matter if he wins.

So out of the 4 cases the only one the courts were willing to tackle (you would think deciding whether a legitimate presidential candidate is a criminal or not would be considered important…) the only one any of them were willing to tackle was paying off a porn star.

America is cooked.
