2024 Baltimore Orioles: New Owner, New Hope

The 2022 Baltimore Orioles Payroll stands at $30.3 million (not counting deferred and retained salaries, e.g, Chris Davis)   https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/baltimore-orioles/payroll/

Carlos Correa, apparently pursued half heartedly by the Os, just signed a contract worth north of $35 million per year.  https://www.spotrac.com/mlb/minnesota-twins/carlos-correa-14168/

Is there anyone substantial in the FA market the O's might sign ?

Happy Trails, Andrew Miller.  We’ll always have 2014.

He was so good. And it's not like he was the "8th inning" guy who comes in with nobody on our out. He was the ultimate fireman and about as dominants a non-closer could be for several years after 2014.

Do people really believe the O's pursued him in any meaningful way?

Maybe there was a phone call to see if he'd be willing to sign a one year deal for $7 million but I can't imagine the O's seriously considered making a splash.

I thought there was an offer of 10/300.

Hate to be a negative Nelly, but it’s pretty frustrating to watch Bobby Witt JR play last night, get a 2B, RBI, and run while Baltimore can’t even call up Rutchman.

I think Elias would've had him on the opening day roster if he wasn't hurt. Still, Witt and Rutschman will always be compared going forward. I'm committed to not watching these games.

^ Yeah, I guess he is injured. Our prospects always seem slow in developing.

Our bats are silent. Best chance was in the first inning where Santander struck out with the bases loaded and one out.

And now he hits a game tying solo HR!

Are the O's still not sending the broadcast crew to road games or do I have that wrong?

No, they're not. Both of them are at Camden Yards, looking like idiots dressed in suits watching a TV.

Yesterday after Santander's HR, the main guy, whoever he is, said "And the Orioles will not get shut out today!"
And I'm like.. it's the 6th inning, and that HR makes it a 1-1 tie. THIS is what he thinks?
Get this clown out of there and send them on the road like a real broadcasting company would do.

It's getting harder and harder for me to get up for these seasons using the "I'm excited to see the young guys play" argument.

I have zero confidence they won't lose 100 this year.  Which would be the 4th season out of 5 if they hit it. And the expectations for 2023 arent even that great.
