Not much wiggle or elusiveness to him. I think he'll get tough yards but won't be much of a threat to break off big runs

Seems to me that this is also JD McKissic insurance as well. When he went down, our offense ground to a halt because AG isn’t a tough yardage kinda guy running it up through the middle. I like that Robinson appears to have great patience and lets his blockers get set instead of running up their asses and seems to have great vision.  There are a number of times in the highlights I’ve seen where he has to change direction and does it quickly and decisively. Just my untrained take, though. I think we got a high value guy that will be an immediate contributor.

Agree Mckissic was a huge loss, we became one dimensional

Believes Rivera's strategy is to draft high floor, polished seniors who can step in and contribute right away instead of being developed into a contributor.

Feels like a near 180 from last years draft.

Not sure how well I’ll be following today. I hate day 3 with a passion. Not for the players but the coverage sucks because it’s so fast paced.

I like to app follow day 3, but have a 1215 flight and will miss most this year.

I expect everyone on this board to message,  tweet, whatever it takes to assist getting priority UDFAs today.  (I've never done this but it couldn't hurt).

Lots of options today.

Rasheed Walker

Perrion Winfrey

Jalyn Armour-Davis (I’d love to see the board melt down with another Bama player)

I think Jojo Domann is still out there

Damone Clark (out for 2022 but worth it soon value wise)

Brandon Smith

Sam Howell/Carson Strong

D’Marco Jackson

Tayler Hawkins

Marquise Hayes

Jalen Wydermyer (could be the steal of the draft… or the worst draft pick of all time)

Coby Bryant

Maybe Darrian Beavers? (I couldn’t follow at some points last night. Was trying to accomplish life and missed picks and can’t be bothered to look)

Matt Araiza (won’t take a punter but it’s a sin to not mention The Punt God)

Jamaree Salyer

Tariq Woolen (can’t tackle worth a **** but good coverage guy)

Darrius Kinnard

Our Day 3 targets are almost identical. I think OL and LB are the picks today. OL is likely BPA, and LB needs to be the 2nd 4th rounder just because of there being so few left available.

Is Sterling Weatherford still available?

Or maybe we can re-sign Landon. Worried about Buffalo and LB not being addressed. Outside of the 1st rounder and the slight reach on Mathis I'm really stoked with the draft. Imagine if we didn't have that third rounder.

Post draft trade of Payne for a player?

I don't know the college players beyond the first round like several here do, but regardless this draft has left me shaking my head.  The first round is about getting a possible gamechanger if the opportunity presents itself.  Washington had that opportunity when Williams and Hamilton were on the board at #11 where great talent collided with great need.  They ended up getting neither.

Hoping one of them would be there at pick #16 was a gamble and they came up snake eyes, in essence, for two 4th-round picks. Pick #98 is really the second pick of the fourth round.

They leave me wondering if they know the holes on their own team and if they understand that the goal is to get the BPA if the pick meets a need or not.  At least that should be the goal in the first three or four rounds.

I just read Voice of Reason and BatteredFanSyndrome's posts after I made my post and I agree with them.  I am simply stating my opinion.  Williams and Hamilton may turn out to be JAG or worse.

The pen state wr Dotson is an absolute game changer.
Williams will be equal to Payne

Hamilton is one hell of a running back.

the Dotson pick was IMO a great move drop 5 spots get two more picks and the second best wr in the draft.

How about trade Payne to Baltimore for 2 of their 4s?

After listening to an Alabama sports radio guy on WJFK this morning, I'm feeling better about the Mathis pick.  The guy knows Tide football, and he was very high on Mathis for what he can do. Take on two guys, clog the middle, get some push inside, strong hands and long arms help him as a run stopper.  Also a character guy, voted permanent team captain, well liked by his teammates.  And guys coming from Alabama are prepared for the NFL.

I'm with @KDawg

Brandon Smith with our first pick, best remaining OL with the 2nd 4th rounder.

if we somehow miss on Smith. We better bring in Damone Clark. He would have been top 3 LB this year prior to surgery and is expected to make a full recovery. He wore #18 which only goes to the most influential players in leadership at LSU. He fits the high character mold. Damone Clark + a 1 year deal Free agent and couple UDFAs and LB would be addressed for both the immediate and long term future.

Brandon Smith and Rasheed Walker are my two big gets for the day. I’d love to get them. I have a sneaky suspicion that if Howell is there he may be a guy we take at this point. And not because I like him. Just a feeling. Not sure if I like it or not to be honest.

I think Perrion Winfrey is also a very real possibility.

I’ve been a member of this board for the last 20 years, and one lesson stands above them all:  If the majority of the posters hate our draft, there is reason for celebration.  If the majority believe we have done well, it’s time to worry.  This formula has stood the test of time and is as certain as death and taxes.

100% agreed with all of this. The player they got was a quality one. Push aside the rest and it was a good pick.

I definitely think the team is broke. Snyder’s money is going into making bad things disappear.

Hit men are expensive.

Snyder’s so broke that instead of hiring prime talent that can get the deed done efficiently like this guy…

If he's looking for an old bungler in need of one final big payday before cashing in his chips at the big casino in the sky maybe I should send him my cv...

I'd be over the moon if we traded Payne for two 4ths and our 4th round went like this:

Smith/Clark

Walker

Sam Howell

Winfrey

Safeties:

Verone McKinley

Steve Weatherford

Tycen Anderson

I also think we will draft Rasheed Walker in the 4th. Top 30 visit. Pretty good upside. Would be great depth and OL would really be set with that pick.

Is there a R-SR kicker that has a military background cause that’s probably the pick at 113

If Christian Watson becomes an all pro with Aaron Rodgers throwing him the ball I'm gonna be kinda salty we didn't take that 2nd trade down to the 20s.

And that's coming from someone who really loves the Dotson pick.

Overall I'm stoked with the draft so far. They clearly have a plan and are sticking to it. High character, day 1 impact players with our first 3 players is a damn good draft.

If Winfrey or Howell are still there with the 1st 4th, you take one of those guys. Winfrey and Mathis with the 2 starters instantly rebuilds the interior depth for this year and beyond, even without Payne

On linebacker, they should take one early Day 2. Not a big Smith fan - big upside but doesn’t appear to be much of a football player. I think I’d rather have Malcolm Rodriguez. If Clark is there when we pick in the 6th, you take him

Interesting note that this draft appears to be the polar opposite of last year's.

Last year we took all 9.0+ RAS score guys with high ceilings. This year we took really high floor, team captain types.

We can still crush this thing out of the park with some savvy moves tomorrow. I don't think a single pick has been wasted thus far. We have 3 picks that are all Day-1 impact guys.

I'm higher and higher on Mathis the more I dig deeper into his film.

Still need to Address: LB, BN, Slot Corner, TE.

I feel like everything is being done in the opposite. The gutting of the DLine was inevitable as soon as chase was being considered at #2. Why didnt you maximize value years ago? Why arent you building the base with these types of guys years ago. Its just backwards across the board. I dont understand
