capcrunch98
It's easy to get carried away with recent wins against teams like Philly, Pens, and the Hawks, but games like tonight show that we're just not on the same level as the real contenders. From the beginning of the game until the end, there was no question of who the better team was. We'll get there, but it's gonna take a couple years. ixcuincle
Bad effort last night from a team that is supposedly in the mix and 3 pts behind their competitors. Can't lose a game like that.

capcrunch98
For the second game, we're getting exposed as average by a better team. The only way we beat a club like the Oilers is if we outwork them on a night they don't play their best, or have one of our goalies stand on his head for 60 min, or just get lucky bounces. By the time we get back from this road trip, we'll likely be a mile outside of the playoff race and hopefully management can start focusing on what needs to be done next year. capcrunch98
And to kick someone when they're already down, Connor Brown just scored his first goal in 2 years. This is the guy we traded this year's 2nd round pick for, all so he could play 4 games for us last year before getting hurt. Nicely done, GMBM.

Warhead36
$75 for parking GTFOH. But I'm assuming there will be easy metro access so...meh.

I wouldn't read too much into it. The $75 parking will be for the bloated fat cats who park right next to the stadium (probably close to what parking costs now in the garage right under Capital One Arena), and there will be a garage a block down the road which will charge half that. The $731 hotel room will be for the penthouse suite with a butler and private plunge pool. The rest of the rooms will be available on Expedia for $150 on non-game nights. PokerPacker
Got into a hole early giving up a goal about a minute into the game, but they've been fighting. Suddenly it's a 2-1 lead after a nice setup by Miroshnichenko to feed Wilson on the backdoor from the slot, and then Ovechkin pots one a minute or two later grabbing a rebound in the slot and stuffing it in through traffic.

PokerPacker
Just missed out on the Ovechkin empty-netter. Couldn't get the shot off after the race to the puck.
capcrunch98
As lousy as this season has been on so many different levels, I can't believe we're in control of our playoff destiny with 4 weeks left. We took care of business with two huge wins, including taking a game in Vancouver that no Caps fan outside of a psych ward had any thought of us winning, and just about every team we're fighting with lost their games. 1 point behind the last wild card, with 2 games in hand. Crazy times. 3
GoDeep81
I'd of bet the farm we'd be in tanking mode by now, 8+ points out. But they just won't give up! Good to see. Still a long shot we pull off a playoff bid, but future looks encouraging. 1

capcrunch98
Great game so far. After getting our teeth kicked in vs. Edmonton last week, none of us thought the rest of the road trip would go like this. They've got a brutal schedule to close out the season, but they're playing a lock-down defensive style that can neutralize superior offenses, and is very conducive to playoff hockey. I said this team was dead in the water in January. Glad they proved me wrong.
