But last year seemed like a down year with more injuries. Needs to stay healthy and get feel for the changeup back. I was thinking we might get a contract year bump from him aince he can opt out. Not so sure he opts out anymore after seeing the market

Stephen Strasburg. He'll never be Matt Harvey, but his fastball is sitting at 92-93, rather than the 95, touching 98, he could be a middling, $25m 4th starter. If he's on, pitching 175 IP at a 2.50 ERA, our rotation will dominate the division. The other contenders are 1-2 pitchers deep (until we see what the Braves have). I thought about picking Corbin, but he will be fine. He dominated at Arizona, which is Coors Lite (see what I did there?) 10 hours ago, PleaseBlitz said: Surprised nobody has said Dozier. Dozier is a good pick, but we have depth there--Kendrick, Kieboom the Greater, and to a mich lesser extent, Difo. 1
@DCGoldPants
Rosenthal is envisioned to be the setup guy? Right? I think that's going to be really important. What actually does worry me is they don't carry that long-reliever that can give you 3-4 innings sometimes.
PleaseBlitz
Strasburg is a good one. Strasburg throwing low 90s is like the cliched trope in every superhero movie where they lose their superpower and have to save the day with grit and friendship. Riggo#44
Stras can still be an effective pitcher, just not the 1a to Scherzer's

Livo was effective. Doug Fister was effective. What the team needs to be a WS contender is NLDS Game 4 Strasburg.

bearrock
Also liked the block and pick off at third by Yan Gomes in the 1st. The improvement at catcher over last year might be one of the biggest factor this year.
CRobi21
Joe Ross looking strong. 2 seem 4 seem changeup slider. Funny that FP mentioned Tulowitzki as lil Kiebooms comp. I always thought the same thing. Just mannerisms on the field are very Tulo-esque. Edited February 24, 2019 by CRobi21

CRobi21
Adrian "Good AB" Sanchez doesn't quite roll off the tongue. But is an accurate nickname.
Warhead36
Reg. Stras, as good as Scherz has been there is still nothing like watching Stras when he has that A game on and is just mowing guys down. That Game 4 performance in Wrigley was awesome. If he can just give us that kind of play for a whole season...watch out. At the end of the day, pitching still wins.
Riggo#44
Biggest takeaways from last night: Eaton had absolutely no "hitch in his giddy up." He looked comfortable stealing second and scoring on a Soto single. Ross looked good, good movement on his pitches. Fantastic to see Aaron Barrett out on the mound, and everyone in the dugout watching and cheering him on.

Mr. Sinister
Kid is going places. Gonna be a pleasure to watch. While im hesitant to say "As good as Bryce" atm, his AB approach makes me believe that he won't lull as much as Bryce. As good as Bryce has been, his swing always seemed like it had less of a buffer zone than other cats in his class.
Bozo the kKklown
I’m not gonna put that much on Soto but I’d rather play him that pay Harper his wages demands. Hopefully he and Robles can become special. Add some strength defensively too which was declining under Harper.
