Is Soto licking his chops looking at this disastrous Phillies bullpen?

It's SO FRUSTRATING right now, but some additions should help the Phillies.  However, this series could be a series for one of these teams to spiral down, or emerge as a  threat.

Soto went 4 for 5 yesterday and we still lost. doesnt matter how good the chops are if our own pitching cant get it together

That mlb.com article about Soto being the best hitter in baseball is crazy. This part stood out to me:

"A .400 wOBA is superstar level; the .500 range Soto is in is super-superstar level. wRC+ compares you to a league average hitter, with a 100 wRC+ being average. Soto's 236 wRC+ means he's been nearly 2 1/2 times as good as an average Major League hitter. That's insane."

Really really need to start thinking about his contract early...

Yeah, I've thought about what that means.  Ruth and other greats had similar measures. its almost like saying that it would be better to have Soto, than having an extra league average hitter in the lineup, but then also getting their extra "outs" somehow.  So, you would have the choice of either Soto, or replace Soto with two average hitters, and you get their extra outs - so 30 outs instead of 27.   Like maybe in the 1st, 4th, and 7th innings, the other team would have to record 4 outs instead of 3.   But being better than twice the league average hitter, means Soto and others like him, your team would actually be better to stick with the standard rules and Soto, then those modified rules with two league average hitters.

Lucas Giolito just threw a no-hitter, 1st one of 2020. Great story of perseverance and hard work. Very happy for him!

Awesome.  He really is playing up to his huge potential!  Sucks we had to deal him away but Eaton being such a huge piece to our WS title makes it easier to bite that bullet!

Sox have Ross Detwiler, Gio Gonzalez, Reynaldo Lopez & Giolito!  The AL Nats! Ha

It's 2020 and all fielder's still yell "I got it" for flyball. When 2 players yell it at the same time, the players can't hear it because the words being yelled blend together.

Here's a novel idea. Each fielder yells a specific word, let's just say their name. Eaton and Robles botch that flyball because they both yell I got it at the same time.

Instead Robles should be yelling "Victor or Robles," while Eaton yells "Adam or Eaton". They get close together and you'd think they'd hear the difference in the name being yelled.

Baseball is 100whatever years old. It literally took me 15 seconds to think of this.

Ahh, the inevitable post WS hangover.  The bad thing about this season is that we didn’t get to attend games and bask in the glory of winning the WS with the banner reveal, etc.  The good thing tho is that this half assed season doesn’t even seem legit so it’s hard to really be upset about how it’s unfolding.  Not throwing in the towel quite yet but man this is depressing!

One more reason why 2020 sucks.
