From every available replay I could see you really can't see if the nose of the ball ever hits the ground or if it is bouncing off the guy's forearm, therefore never hitting the ground. Officials should have stuck with the call on the field. Well looks like the Panthers just stopped them on 4th down. Game over anyway. Good job Panthers.
