Hitler Sex Game Riles Up Steam Users Over Extra Testicle

History’s face-punchiest man, Adolf Hitler, is the star of a new sex game, fittingly titled Sex with Hitler. (Heads up, that link is very NSFW.) It’s currently riding high on Steam’s “New Releases” charts, but as Vice reports, some players are upset about a minor feature: The genocidal dictator has two testicles. Historically, it’s been long speculated that he had one.

Ostensibly, the game is an isometric-shooter-cum-extremely-adult-visual-novel. Action-focused sections, in which players shoot at Allied forces, are punctuated by poorly animated sex scenes starring Hitler and a range of cartoon ladies. I haven’t played, because it looks pretty dreadful, based on the particularly unpleasant scenes flaunted on Sex with Hitler’s Steam page. But that’s not the issue being raised by customers.

“Terrible game. First off, Hitler was known to only have one testicle (nut),” one player wrote in one of Sex with Hitler’s negative reviews. “However, the game gets this wrong twice. In one scene he has both of his nuts.”

Has Godwin’s Law, the Rule of Nazi Comparisons, Been Disproved?

“As an online discussion continues, the probability of a reference or comparison to Hitler or Nazis approaches 1.” Thus states Godwin’s law, also known as Godwin’s law of Nazi analogies, named after Mike Godwin, an American attorney and writer (and Future Tense contributor). Godwin articulated his rule in 1990, in the early days of the internet, after noticing that Nazi references had gotten out of hand on Usenet newsgroups and bulletin board systems.

More than 30 years later, Godwin’s Law is still popular. It’s the subject of its own entries on Wikipedia and the Oxford English Dictionary, featured everywhere from PBS to Know Your Meme. It persists because it does double duty. On the one hand, Godwin’s Law is a somewhat-whimsical reminder that internet conversations can escalate quickly. At the same time, it warns against making casual comparisons to the horrors of the Holocaust. Don’t invoke the ultimate reference to evil in vain. The moment in the debate when someone glibly calls their ideological opponent a “Nazi” is what the French call “the Godwin point.”

But recent academic research makes a bold claim: Godwin’s law does not work in practice. The study’s authors reviewed a sampling of nearly 200 million Reddit posts and found that references to “Hitler” and “Nazis” did not occur with a high degree of frequency. In fact, after a certain point, the probability of observing these words actually decreased.

That’s a counterintuitive outcome, to say the least. Based on the abundance of literature comparing Trump’s presidency to fascist regimes, or the way Fox News commentators link Anthony Fauci to Nazi doctors, not to mention troubling coverage of a neo-Nazi resurgence in Germany, one would expect that online Hitler comparisons would unfortunately be on the rise.

That’s not the case, according to the research. As the study’s authors put it, the Reddit results “suggest that it is not inevitable that conversations eventually disintegrate into reductio ad Hitlerum.” Godwin’s law is nearly as old as the internet itself, but does this study show that it is dead?

Dariusz Jemielniak, one of the study’s authors, said in an email that killing Godwin’s law was not his goal. What he wanted instead was to test it, something that at first seemed impracticable. The project began with Jemielniak and colleagues relaxing in a garden, chatting about vocabulary in online communities—typical behavior for their group of data scientists, apparently—when he mentioned that Godwin’s law could theoretically be testable if only they could find a large enough data set. According to Jemielniak, Gabriele Fariello, a statistician who teaches at Harvard, said, “Hold my beer,” and they were off.

'The Jew is the devil' — Neo-Nazis rally in Florida

Participants at a neo-Nazi rally in Orlando, Florida, on Saturday waved Nazi flags and shouted antisemitic and anti-Black slogans, according to the NGO StopAntisemitism.org.

The rally was organized by the National Socialist Movement (NSM) and was live-streamed on the American Nazi Party’s website.

The live-stream archive was not currently working on the website, but participants chanted, “The Jew is the devil” and “Jews rape children and drink their blood,” StopAntisemitism.org said.

NSM plans to hold other events, including on April 23 in Washington State, a convention of its national chapters and a public protest.

On January 12, NSM said it had opened its own live-streaming capabilities after losing access to the use of BlogTalk Radio, which it blamed on “the Jew.” The platform is still rife with errors, which the webmaster blamed on visitors.

**** all that. We had open warfare with Nazis.

We never made peace with the fascists, we destroyed them.
These fascist assholes are no different, and should suffer the same fate. I see no reason to protect them with laws they want to destroy.
A reminder, their philosophy is not just thoughts. It requires action. Their entire way of thinking is to murder and dominate others they see as lesser.
And the only thing that will allow that action to happen again is not exterminating them as soon as they crawl out of whatever slimy rock they hide under.

**** them.

Pretty sure I've heard those exact words used to describe why Muslims shouldn't have civil rights.

"Why are the local PD allowing this?"

Maybe "First Amendment"?  Just a theory.

Is what they are saying First Amendment speech or is it incitement to violence? Is it First Amendment speech or it hate speech?

I do believe we've drawn a line both morally and legally.

To be fair, this is a situation I struggle with. I believe in freedom of expression and even the freedom to be wrong. I have argued that neo nazis have the right to march and hand out pamphlets because I think that despite how despicable these people are the ideal of the country is that important. At the same time, there has to be a point at which we distinguish speech from poison. In my opinion, what we are hearing so often these days is not discourse, debate, or an exchange of ideas. It's hate. It's a naked attempt to get you to hate me and to get you to want to kill me. And we see that's so. This isn't an academic, abstract debate we're having. This isn't a fun intellectual exercise for a class on law or ethics. We've seen an escalation in White Supremacy and violence in recent years.

Honestly, I came into this thread expecting to read about the multiple locations that have recently decided to boycott an anti-Holocaust graphic novel in their public schools, one that won the Pulitzer Prize, a few decades ago. If you ask me, that boycotting of literature is the attack on the First Amendment not people upset at Nazis shouting what they were above.

I think there is a distinct difference. And i'm pretty sure you realize it is a false equivalence. I would also point out that many of those who said that about the Muslims are indeed those who foster the Nazis and enjoy them in their midst.

We as reasonable people know that the overwhelming majority of Muslims are not violent evil monstrosities out to murder every one that is born of the races they don't like.

Now, say that sentence with "Nazis" and see how it sounds.

Nazis.. actual fascist Nazis should be eradicated from the planet. Period. The entirety of their belief system is more than enough justification. It is not a perversion of a religion by a tiny minority of fanatics, 100% of them are fanatics. Genocide and domination is their crystal clear intent and it has been demonstrated. There is no such thing as a misunderstood Nazi. Their very existence is an overt and real threat.

While I agree with Bang’s position broadly, here in the US we don’t exterminate people for waving nazi flags…or any flags, for that matter.

Because that would be wrong.

the reasonable law abiding person within me agrees,,  but the article posted directly above you describes it quite well. (To condense.. the nazi comes into the punk bar and is immediately threatened and thrown out by the bartender, even though he wasn't doing anything but buying himself a beer. The bartender explains that he may be quiet, but if you tolerate him, soon he brings a friend. And then another friend, and before you know it, you're a Nazi bar. Then when you try to get them out, they cause a big problem.)

Our rights our nation, all of it's founding principles are based on the premise of co-existence.
They are against that entirely. Their philosophy is that they are superior to all, and as such deserve to murder those they deem unworthy, and to dominate those they allow to live. There is nothing else.

Which to me means they are against this nation and all of it's principles and beliefs. And if given the opportunity, they will act on it. Nazis start out with rallies and protests on street corners, end up with genocides. And the thing is, it's not some vague (and ancient) religious philosophy that can be mis-interpreted by ignorance. It is plain and clear, and they are proud of it being so clear. They truly do believe in their superiority and what they intend to do about it is also made absolutely clear.
History does repeat if we let it.

Gov. Ron DeSantis accuses Democrats of trying to 'smear' him over neo-Nazi rally in Orlando

Gov. Ron DeSantis accused Democrats Monday of trying to "smear" him over how his administration's responded to a neo-Nazi demonstration in Orlando over the weekend.

Republican leaders across Florida condemned the neo-Nazi rally, with U.S. Sen. Rick Scott tweeting Sunday that "the hateful & anti-Semitic demonstrations reported in Florida today have no place in our state."

But DeSantis didn't weigh in until asked about it during a press conference Monday afternoon in Palm Beach County, and the governor's press secretary drew attention for a tweet that questioned whether the incident was staged.

"Do we even know they're Nazis?" said DeSantis spokeswoman Christina Pushaw in a tweet that later was deleted.

Pushaw's tweet drew rebukes from Democrats and Jewish leaders.

"We are alarmed that @ChristinaPushaw would first give cover to antisemites rather than immediately and forcefully condemning their revolting, hate-filled rally and assault," the Anti-Defamation League Florida tweeted, adding: "We expect any public official, especially a voice for @GovRonDeSantis, to address the fears of the Jewish community thoughtfully – not with this troubling and careless approach."

Interesting article about Trump descending the escalator like Hitler, according to a thought expressed by Steve Bannon. We must remember that Trump is descended from Germans, his father certainly treated prospective Black and probably Jewish renters as second class citizens that he wouldn't rent to. It's always been my thought that Trump envisions (present tense) as Hitler with his insistence on personal loyality from his underlings. First the quote and where it comes from and then the link.

When Donald Trump rode a golden escalator down to announce his presidential candidacy in 2015, the carefully choreographed scene before TV crews reminded a soon-to-be Trump advisor of scenes from one of the most effective propaganda films ever made.

"That's Hitler!, Bannon thought, as the opening scene of Leni Riefenstahl's seminal work of Nazi propaganda, 'Triumph of the Will,' flashed through his mind," New York Times reporter Jeremy Peters writes in his new book, "Insurgency: How Republicans Lost Their Party and Got Everything They Ever Wanted."

‘So Ugly’: Neo-Nazis Crash Book Reading With Giant Swastika Flag

Nearly two dozen neo-Nazis and fascists swarmed a nonprofit library in Rhode Island Monday night, interrupting a book reading with slurs and swastikas.

“We held a peaceful celebration of the Communist Manifesto tonight for 45 minutes, until it was interrupted by a crowd of fascists and Nazis,” the Red Ink Community Library in Providence posted on its Twitter page.
