I had never heard of the "Compact Theory and Nullification" as an excuse for states to ignore Supreme Court rulings (video is queued up). Apparently it's based on some archaic theory used by the Confederacy in their efforts to secede from the Union and was championed by vice president Calhoun at the time. I wonder if states can use this same argument if the SC determines that Trump can't be left off any ballots lol.
