After that, a heatwave moves in for the weekend and stays until the middle of next week. Mid 90s every day.

China
Quiet hurricane season so far. Jinx!! It usually picks up later in the summer after the oceans have heated up all summer. But yeah, right now:

pjfootballer
It usually picks up later in the summer after the oceans have heated up all summer. But yeah, right now: I lived in west palm beach for 7 years. Worst time was September and October.

Skins24
It usually picks up later in the summer after the oceans have heated up all summer. But yeah, right now:El Nino will ensure this season stays quiet. We are a month away from peak and the Atlantic is absolutely dead right now. Which is great! The hurricane drought continues! I think the 2005 season broke the Atlantic...
d0ublestr0ker0ll
Meanwhile, DC is maintaining high temps in the mid 80s. That will change on friday with the temps gradually bumping up in to the 90s again. We'll be in the mid 90s next week.

skinsmarydu
high 80s, no possibility of rain at least till the weekend, when it's only a 20% chance. The humidity is a killer. (LOL at twa yesterday in the RTT when he said his sweat was sweating...I had a hot flash yesterday and my kneecaps started sweating.)
d0ublestr0ker0ll
Squall lines headed through the region this evening, should be hit or miss. Threat will end later tonight. Tropical Storm Danny is dissipating, but Erika looks like she has potential. There's another spinner right off the African coast as well. Like it was stated earlier though, El Nino is making it difficult for these things to get going.

d0ublestr0ker0ll
Well it's September tomorrow, and we'll be welcomed with a short heat wave from tuesday to thursday - mid 90s. On thursday & friday a couple cold fronts will come through, and we could see storms. Will cool things off around 10 degrees for the weekend. Guess I'll post this here. Smoke from the wildfires out west, going way out in to the Atlantic. Edited September 3, 2015 by d0ublestr0ker0ll

d0ublestr0ker0ll
No! **** that! There will be NO rain this weekend. If you go up to China's post on this page you will see tropical storm Joaquin off the coast a bit. It's still gaining strength, it could reach hurricane status. In any event, its specific trajectory is still up in the air (like any storm). It could hit New England hard and kind of sideswipe us in the process. Definitely a chance it makes landfall in the mid-Atlantic though. That is on top of a low pressure system and cold front coming through. The low will feed the atmosphere with moisture and make the cold front stall over top of us. Add a tropical storm and things could get wild. Currently, showers and T-storms are all up in parts of central and western VA. Same thing the farther west you go. It's daunting on the radar, starting to reach towards DC.
