shakinaiken
Didn't see a thread addressing this presumably- based on early reviews- fresh, gritty, nolanesque take on Daredevil. I believe the series premiers in it's entirety on Netflix tonight at 3 am east coast time. I'm pretty excited, though I've been let down by extremely hyped shows before. Heres a link to its metacritic page. currently sitting at a cumulative score of 75, which is actually a bit lower than i expected due to the early praise it was receiving. http://www.metacritic.com/tv/marvels-daredevil Anyone else excited for the show? The 12th Commandment
I can't wait. Gotham is my favorite of the comic book live action shows and this was described as a grittier version of Gotham. Thankful that I'm alive in this day and age. Comic book shows I grew up with (Shazam, 50's superman reruns, 60's batman - which was way cool but in a different way, wonderwoman, hulk, etc) all failed to capture the heart of the comic characters they represented. Finally technology and societal norms have progressed(?) to the point where they do. It's great!
RonArtest15
I actually hope it's better than Gotham. LOL. I'm very curious and will give it a watch over the weekend.
Pick6
I am getting a Netflix account just for this. I am also curious to see what the do with the other Marvel mini-series.

I've never seen Gotham mostly because i despise the overall look or aesthetic of Fox dramatic shows, regardless of whether the concept is intriguing. But I always felt the idea of "Gotham" was appealing, so I may check it out eventually. But based on your response, it doesn't sound like you're a huge fan of the show. The 12th Commandment
It must be a generational thing. Then again, maybe it's just me. Flash and Arrow are all right but they have way too much of what to me is high school level drama. Comic books don't have that generally. Gotham is about the comic book characters with very little relationship type stuff. I like that much better. I think the acting in Gotham is also miles above the acting in the CW shows. I lost interest in Gotham after 2/3 episodes. I wish a project like that would be picked up by HBO/Showtime/etc...

shakinaiken
And for those who haven't seen it already, here's the show's version of Daredevil's red suit
PCS
The video transformation of said suit. Excited? Hell yeah my near 53 year old self excited. My brother and I were trying to cast actors and such as our favorite superheroes back when I was a teenager. Finally stuff like this is coming out. I hope it's as good as they're saying it's going to be.

There was a lot of 'highschool level drama' in early Spiderman, Fantastic Four, Avengers etc, in the 60's. Some of my favorite comic runs have involved it, like the Maxwell Lord/Guy Gardner era JLA in the 80's and 90's. To be fair though, yeah the love triangle type CW stuff does get distracting and annoying at times, lol. (one reason I quit on Tomorrow People early on) On the other hand Gotham does have Barbara Gordon....[shiver], so they aren't immune to annoying relationship subplots. The 12th Commandment
When I wanted high school drama in the 70's dammit, I read or watched Archie. Which was rarely. CW just seems too soapy/sappy. I don't ever remember wishing Gwen or Flame Boy would stfu like I do for Felicity or Lauren or Thea or Barry's fantasy woman/step sister or Cisco. There were a couple episodes at the beginning where the Barbara/Jim thing was a little sketch but now she's a bat**** crazy lesbian and I like it. To be fair, my discomfort with heavy handed drama that's badly done may well be a reflection of my own pathos or lack thereof. I have a strong feeling that Daredevil is going to be one I like a lot. TK
Just watched the first one. My introduction to Daredevil was at the very beginning of Frank Miller's run which introduced Stick, Stone, Elecktra, & The Hand. With this borrowing from Miller & Romita's Man Without Fear mini series, color me VERY impressed so far.
Jumbo
I've mentioned before what a D'onofrio fan I am, and how Goren (L&O CI) was one of my favorite TV characters ever, so I'll add this mini-interview: (btw, I may be the only one who didn't know this particular incarnation--The Watcher (Marvel promotional) channel--was on youtube, but in case there's anyone else unaware, check it out)
Chachie
Can't wait to get home from work tonight to start this. It's actually the reason I subscribed to Netflix. They'll be coming out with a couple spinoffs from it too. We'll eventually be seeing Luke Cage and after that the Defenders.

visionary
Ok, the first few minutes, I'm not impressed so far. lol The opening scene was confusing and the confession scene was kind of boring and hard to pay attention to. The slavery/fight scene afterwards is good though and the scene after that is pretty funny. Promising. Pretty good episode actually. I'm liking Foggy a lot, and Karen (Deborah Ann Woll...yes please). On to episode 2.

nemocystem
This show is in****ingcredible. Just my opinion. so well written, acted, realized. Already #1 comic book related show in my book, & i love all of the ones on right now except for Gotham. Just wanted to toss in my 2c...i realize everyone has their own opinion, but i love what they've done so far...6 episodes in.
