The disgruntled cornerback returned Wednesday to Dallas Cowboys headquarters after packing up his possessions and storming out on Tuesday after learning that he would be benched in favor of Orlando Scandrick. Coach Jason Garrett told reporters Wednesday that, despite the incident, Claiborne would play Sunday against the New Orleans Saints. "Yeah, we informed Mo yesterday that his role was going to change, and he didn't take that news very well, by his own admission," Garrett said. "He left the building and didn't participate in the meetings and our short walkthrough that we have on Tuesdays. He did come back to building last night, he and I visited and he was here early this morning and been going through everything. We're going to discipline him, we'll keep how we're disciplining him in house and we'll move forward. It's behind us." Garrett said that Claiborne would compete for a role in the team's nickel package, but reiterated that after seeing Scandrick's handiwork against the Rams, "We felt like he deserved the opportunity to start at the cornerback position." Claiborne's demotion came just hours after Cowboys owner Jerry Jones described him as a disappointment since being drafted with the No. 6 overall pick in 2012. "Is he what we had hoped for at this point when we drafted him with the sixth overall pick, giving up the (second-round) pick to go up to the sixth pick to get him? No," Jones told KRLD-FM on Tuesday. "But he's going to be a good player." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Does anyone else find this hilarious? Mr. Sinister
Played well in 2012 but seemed to regress last year and into this year

G.A.C.O.L.B.
I wouldn't mind trading a 4th rounder for him...maybe a third Really? Maybe a 3rd? For a disgruntled, disappointing, supremely underachieving 1st round bust that just got benched? A 5th. At best.
SkinsFTW
LOL at Garrett disciplining him privately in house. Maybe Jerry Jones can find a role for Adrian Peterson after all.
Momma There Goes That Man
I'll admit I was nervous when Dallas traded up to snag him but I'm glad it continues to look like less of a threat each year

At best. He has the talent in my eyes to be a good corner. Idk how they are utilizing him though but in 2012 he was pretty much a press man cb...that is what he is good at. That was the year rob Ryan coached them then they changed schemes. He was a 1st round pick drafted as high as he did for a reason. A lot of ppl was worried for a reason. Luckily they not tailoring to his strengths it seem like.
roanoker
Damn what happened? It appeared that he had the talent. But then again the cowpiles have a tendency to self destruct.
Warhead36
He was never good. I wouldn't give up a 4th for him. We got Breeland around that point in the draft who is at least as good already and will probably be better.

PartyPosse
If you can't make it in that cowboys secondary then it's time to start evaluating other career options.

VCDefectors
What's crazy about the whole Claiborne thing is how it ties into the Redskins-Rams trade. You might remember that the Cowboys traded up to the 6th pick, the same pick the Skins traded to the Rams to get RGIII. Could it be that all of the teams involved (Redskins, Rams, Cowboys) got snakebit? Time will tell. When was the last time you remember a blockbuster trade going bust for everybody? SkinsFTW
When was the last time you remember a blockbuster trade going bust for everybody? Thats what happens when 3 crap teams do deals like that. What would you expect out of a Browns, Jags, Bucs 3 way trade? I'd just expect some LOL's.
