People seem to forget Peyton went 7-9 three years in a row with peak Drew Brees.

The won a SB in 2009, and really not much after that of significant consequence.

Granted, they should have gone to the SB the Rams lost to the Patriots.  They got jobbed on one of the worst calls in the history of the NFL.

He’s a good coach.  He’s better than a lot of guys coaching.  But he has his flaws and disappointments.

peyton did an on side kick coming out of halftime in the Super Bowl and then was bestowed this lore of greatness he never actually deserved

But he retired when he knew that he didn't have a HOF QB anymore so nobody got the chance to say that he's just a mediocre coach

It was expected by a few, but Bill O'Brien is going back to New England. Too bad for the Texans, he seems like he'd be a perfect fit for them as a head coach.

You do remember he was the Texans head coach. He got fired 2 years ago. He basically was the Gm his final year, traded players for nothing and did nothing.

Exactly. The Texans and Bill O'Brien were made for each other. He's a coach fitting for a team seeking the equivalent of Josh McCown's coaching skill.

Good hire. He just needs to get the right qb. I could see Carson as a backup there, if Carson could mentally accept that role.

He'd probably have to start half the games since Murray seems to be gettting hurt more and more, and he already got paid so probably is just focused on video games.

Frank Reich seems like a better version of Rivera. Class guy, a grown up. But he actually calls plays. I get why people think Wilkes got a raw deal, but an owner is gonna do what he's gonna do. And the fact that Irsay STILL wants to hire Jeff Saturday tells you all you need to know about what Reich was dealing with in Indy.

Dan Quinn staying with Cowboys.

Indy- You know Irsay wants Saturday to be the permanent coach. Will he do it. Don’t think Sean interviewed here. Has no viable qb. They need that first round pick to get next qb. No Sean here.

Houston- With Cleveland’s first rounder, they could use that to get Sean and then use their own first round on a qb.  The owner sucks, don’t see Sean there.

Denver- they have no 1st round pick in 23. They’d have to use a future 1st rounder to get Sean but they may need that if Russ is indeed cooked. Sean only this, if he feels Russ has anything left.

Arizona- You won’t have Kyler for most of year.

I think Sean Payton goes nowhere this year and waits for better opportunities in 24.

Not sure what to make of the Wilks situation in Carolina. Hope he lands something in the coming season, maybe as DC on someone's staff.

Reich is a good coach, and I hope he has success with the Panthers. This isn't an Adam Gase deal, where they're hiring a dude with a losing record and a stink patent. Or like what happened to Wilks out in AZ when they fired him after a single season and then proceeded to hire Kingsbury, a college coach with a losing record. That was where Wilks got a raw deal.

Wilks was never going to get the permanent gig.

The track record of interim coaches getting the permanent gig isn’t good. They eventually get fired.

Wilks went 3-13 in his one year with Arizona. Getting fired after that isn’t really a raw deal.
