Demarqo
I have a question if Redskins fail to make it all the way and the 49ers are in the Superbowl would you root for Colin Kaepernick? Just so people will stop saying that running QBs never win the SB?

TMK9973
Why do I care what people say? Will it make it more likely that RG3 wins a super bowl ONLY if other people say he can?
Demarqo
With the new Pistol running QBs its different, as they (RG3, Colin) have the option to run it or pass it on every play. People think its "Gimmicky"
KDawg
There has never been a quarterback to win the Super Bowl that had a rushing attempt? Weird stat.
BDOG510
If we put a defense around RG3, I have no doubt he's gonna bring us a SB(If he stays healthy)

BDOG510
I disagree with Harbaugh sticking with Kaepernick... sends a bad message to players and I think it will bite him in the ass in the playoffs.

Saqs
Next "they" will add parameters like "no QB who has ever run more than X amount of times per game has ever won a Super Bowl". SMH...
TD_washingtonredskins
I don't really care about the general perception at this moment. I think people will look back 10 years from now at what we're doing and it will be discussed as an innovation akin to New England implementing the spread with Brady. I can't predict the future and winning a Super is very difficult, but I think we'll be in position to challenge for a championship for a long time. Henry
Elway and Young ran some, but not anywhere near as much as Griffin (or Kaepernick) does. I'm not rooting for the 49ers because ... well I don't like them. And if a QB is going to win a superbowl in a new and unique way, I want it to be our guy. MartinC
Steve Young won a Super Bowl Elway won a super bowl. Dont forget Joe Montana - he ran for 60 yards and a TD in '84 when his 49ers beat Marinos Dolphins.

gortiz
Young is running a QB. There are no if, ands, or buts about it. Hell, his second to last year in the league he ran 70 times for 454 yards.
Audible_Red40
I won't necessarily root for them. But I will say in 2011, if the FO (Shanny) was to draft a QB, he is the guy I was hoping they'd take.
BigMike21
Screw the 49ers. I never liked them growing up and their fans at FedEx last year were *******s.
Darth Tater
What do you mean by "running QB"? Were Staubach, Griese, Elway or Young "running QBs"? Yes, by the time Elway or Young won their rings, I guess you could say their game had "morphed" but that is an identifying feature of franchise QBs in that they play multiple styles over their carer, sometimes in the same season. At Baylor, RG3 ran a more traditional spread option offense in his first year as a true freshman but still managed to stay away from the TO and showed passing chops even then. In his third year, he ran a spread option offense that used a lot of dink and dunk passing. In his fourth year, while there will still many traditional spread option offense elements, RG3 was throwing the deep ball often. In the pros so far, RG3 has quickly adjusted to the level of competition, has shown he has a good dink and dunk game and has the ability to throw for chunks. These are as good indications that you are going to get from rookie play that RG3 has the biggest elements that separates the franchise QB from the merely good ones, the ability to play a different game when needed and the ability to adjust up to the level of the competition,
HogNose
Elway and Young ran some, but not anywhere near as much as Griffin (or Kaepernick) does. I Young ran for 4,239 yards during his career.
