Wednesday 8/29: Last preseason game tweets, with occasional what-not along the way

Nice

I swear i associate ESPN with a tabloid anymore....just trashy.

I think they might have been caught in some plagiarism. That totally sounds like its from a fans blog and they just picked some sentences regarding stats from it and deleted the rest. The last sentence was removed but the first sentence still seems out of place and in accurate.

Sad. Here I am happy to see the Redskins break the 30pt barrier and I have to read that on ESPN of all places. You may be right the more I think about it.

Grant Paulsen

‏@granthpaulsen

Shanahan on tough roster decisions: "That's the problem you want to have. We are a deeper football team." Said this cut-down will be tough.

Mike Shanahan: "You've got to try to find your best 53. If you have a hard time making those decisions, that means we're getting better."

Chris Russell

‏@Russellmania980

Roy Helu on what he felt most rusty: "My acceleration....Not being able to run for about two and a half weeks, I felt slow out there."

John Keim

‏@john_keim

Shanahan said the value of return specialists has diminished a little w/kickoffs from 35. And more punters better punting away from returner

RT @Rich_Campbell Maybe a sign of #Redskins' improved depth: They outscored opponents 85-42 in Quarters 2 through 4 of preseason games

I think Dick Crawford locked up the #4 CB spot without question tonight, and I wouldn't be shocked if he was #3 by seasons end. Dick looks ready to explode onto the scene sometime this season

Agreed, sir. I think Dick really rose to the occasion and left a penetrating effect on the minds of the coaching staff.

Looked like he sprinkled baby powder on his junk then rubbed it in LOOOL

Watch the replay on nfl.com - that is exactly what he did lmao, he literally pulled his pants out and pretended to do just that. Having listened to a lot of Helu's interviews and how humble and down to earth he is, that is the LAST thing I would have expected him to do but it was hilarious.

nope... not until Helu does this against 1st stringers...

I think Morris had the best camp and deserve the start in game 1.

1st stringers?!?

I'm amazed by the short memory of some fans. Roy Helu had three straight 100 yard games in a row last year, the first time in history for a Redskins rookie. In his first 100 yard game, Seatle came into that game as a top 10 rushing defense. Helu also had 14 receptions in one game. But Helu still has to prove he can stay healthy.

They all can play... and all can be 100 yard rushers per game. The question is who can do it the longest without getting hurt.

hopefully we can pick up another rookie QB with half his skills that will satisfy everybody.

Having Cousins here for the next 3 years will be a great insurance policy in case RGIII gets hurt. I really cant see RGIII being a bust but its not totally impossible .....almost certain though we will be flipping Cousins for say a 2nd round pick in 3 years.

You can never have too many good QBs and RGIII, Rex, Cousins is so much better than Rex, Beck thats its almost funny.

3 years? Arizona may be calling tomorrow lol. Na, I'm sure someone will want to give him a chance sooner rather than later though. The kid has great potential. Accurate, strong arm and even some mobility that I didn't realize

He is on a 4 year rookie deal here so I'm thinking unless someone blows us away with an offer and all goes to plan with RGIII he stays here 3 years and then gets traded as enters the last year of his rookie deal.

Sure, 2 firsts and a second should do that trick. :D

I remember when I had to talk people off the ledge from the Cousins pick and assure them it was a solid choice.

Man, how fast things change :ols:

I remember sitting there seeing his name before our pic and typing watch us draft him. :ols:

I'll never forgive some people on here for showing so much collective brain failure over that pick, especially with what we had to deal with just last year, no tto mention the last 20 years at the QB position, I f Kirk develops the way we hope that he will, he will be worth far more than the stupid 4th rounder that a lot of cats wanted us to take Bobby Massie with. Ridiculous.
