AsburySkinsFan
Yeah, so apparently ABC has decided that GCB is a fantastic idea for a new tv series. Well, I don't and the fact that they would NEVER do a show titled "Good Muslim ******" is just pathetic. I'm tired of it, and I'm making sure that ABC and all of their sponsors know it. If you want to contact ABC to complain about their latest show GCB (Good Christian *******), call or email ABC at (818) 460-7477 or http://abc.go.com/site/contact-us. Here’s an updated List of GCB Sponsors (4/13/12): * Old Navy (parent is The Gap 1.800.GAPSTYLE (1.800.427.7895) * Burger King * Target: 1-972-431-8200 * Virgin Mobile: 1-888-322-1122 * L'Oréal: * Nissan: 1-800-NISSAN-1 * Bayer * Hyundai: 1-800-633-5151 * Straight Talk: 1-877-430-2355 * Hulu Plus: 1-877-719-2773 * JCPenny: 1-800-322-1189 * Victoria's Secret: 1-800-411-5116 * Scrubbing Bubbles: 1-800-494-4855 (U.S.), press 3 * Pepsi: 1-800-433-2652 * bareEscentuals: 1-888-795-4747 * Apple iPhone: 1-800-676-2775 * YouTube: 1-650-253-0000 * Verizon: 1-800-VERIZON * Subaru: 1-800-782-2783 * Post Honey Bunches of Oats: 1-800-431-POST * Citi ThankYou Card: 1-800-842-6596 * Chef Boyardee: 800-544-5680 (possibly discontinued) * Best Foods: 1-800-418-3275 (possibly discontinued) * Mentos (Perfetti Van Melle): (possibly discontinued)

The Evil Genius
Oh...about 10 months too late. ---------- Post added March-15th-2012 at 03:36 PM ---------- BTW - the series is based on the book Good Christian ****es by Kim Gatlin It gets even better. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GCB_%28TV_series%29 The series then was renamed to "Good Christian Belles" which appeared in several promos before the final renaming to the acronymic "GCB". *persecution off* ---------- Post added March-15th-2012 at 03:40 PM ---------- I do find it odd that a picture of fully covered Muslim women is being used to portray all Muslim women. :evilg:
Teller
Though I didn't care for the imagery, I loved the point that South Park made in this regard. They had to black out an image of Mohammed delivering girl scout cookies, but in the scene immediately after, were allowed to show Jesus taking a dump on an American flag that was sitting on the floor. Unfortunately, ASF, we're a majority, and therefore fair game, unless we can somehow make this an international incident.
mjah
Surely anyone who would boycott GCB's sponsors due to the message the show sends about women and mainstream American beliefs, would also call for a boycott of Rush Limbaugh's show for the same reasons. I'm going to go search for ASF's post calling for the Limbaugh boycott. Not sure what I'll find. By the way, the best way to eliminate crappy programs is if everyone refuses to support them with their eyes and ears. GCB looks like an ultra-crappy show, and I suspect it won't last very long. Very reminiscent of the pearl-clutching over the Playboy show: garbage programming takes care of itself. (Unless it's on the radio, in which case it needs a little help on its way to history's bad-idea incinerator.)
Larry
So, uh, people got any complaints about the show other than the title? (I do agree, I find the title offensive. I certainly wouldn't have done it. I think it's a legit complaint.)

Strange that. ---------- Post added March-15th-2012 at 07:15 PM ---------- And calling all women ****es is OK too, I guess. It's just the Christian bit that's worth your anger. Gracelander
I could care less about the religious views of the show, my wife had it on the other night and it's just a crappy show. I can't stand that blonde, her squishy face and her accent are just awful. There is a hot brunette latina (I think), almost like a younger Eva Longoria <sp?>. Guest Spearfeather
Who is she? Edit The paragraph below the picture list the name of a completely different woman I think. It says this: Muslim models have it tough—just ask Kartika Sari Dewi Shukarno who will be subjected to a caning next week in Malaysia because she was caught drinking beer at a nightclub. Yeah, you NYC and L.A based models who get it in every night at the bar should be thankful. Thankful that you have the freedom to be a sinner! http://www.complex.com/girls/2009/08/the-10-hottest-muslim-womenWhen I typed that name into google, it showed this picture:

mjah
And what have you found thus far? I've boycotted that blowhard for years, you won't find me defending him or any of his ilk Okay. But did you call for a boycott of his advertisers? I didn't see any posts where you called for a boycott of his advertisers. To be clear, I'm not saying you have to do that. But given the reasons why you want to boycott some idiotic TV show that's likely to die quickly due to poor ratings, it would be surprising if you hadn't already advocated the same thing, for similar reasons, against an idiotic radio show which millions of people have listened to, multiple times each and every week, for decades. But maybe you have two screen names on ES...? I don't like it when my faith or anyone's faith is used this way, I find it disgusting and extremely disrespectful. Agreed. How odd, then, that you used the "this vs. that" Muslim image in your OP in order to float a different point.
Teller
In fairness to my friend, ASF, he is very vocal about programming he doesn't like. Be it Rush, be it FAUXNews (just for you, buddy ) or anyone else, he points it out and chastises it. And I'll grant that when he does it, though we're on different sides of the aisle, he's USUALLY making a point that even I see as legitimate. The man is a pastor and a missionary. I think it's more than reasonable for him to be more aggravated, and more anxious to take action, when something hits him a little closer to home. Aren't we ALL like that? (That'll be $20, you Bible-thumping, socialist d-bag.)
Hersh
Would it make a difference if the main character in the show was a practicing Christian? skinsmarydu
Until I read the OP, I had no idea about this show...we watch very little national network programming.
