i am one of those damned lefties, but i have always kinda liked Bush Sr. i had the honor of serving under the man. there are many things i dont like about him as well, but if we assume that ALL politicians are crooked <which i think they are> then beyond that i like him better than any republican i can think of.... and that includes the late not so great RR.

That's hilarious. What a great quote.

She came to my university 2 years ago and my roommate was the Dean's office employee who got assigned to escort her around the campus that day. She said Mrs. Bush was really funny and extremely down to earth.

Anyway, about Sarah Palin, I agree. I wish she would stay in Alaska, the more she talks and is in the limelight, the more she strikes me as a complete phony. I watched her reality show "Sarah Palin's Alaska" just out of curiousity for about 10 minutes last week and I wanted to poke my eyeballs out. What a complete fake.

Agreed. I respect Bush Sr.; he's a smart dude and seems like a pretty honest politician.

More of the Elites taking pot shots?

seems none of the establishment repubs nore the lefties like anything that is not establishment oriented?

beit teaparty or Palin or her daughter

So, establishment Republicans and lefties only like "establishment oriented" things because they don't care for extremists (TPers) and idiots (Palin)?

No it seems they only like the people that are with them.. see Murkowski in Alaska.. They didn't give up on her because she had a position and they backed her. When you look behind the scenes, even the opposition belong to the same clubs and family tree's.

Yawn like establishment RINOs err moderates Republicans will be listened to when they were are part of the problem.

If liberals like you and you are on Team elephant, allegedly then you know how little clout you have in the Heartland

I guess Sarah would have to get more Neo-conned to get Barbara's approval.

So, what y'all are saying is that Sarah Palin actually is a good representative of what real Republicans are like?

Don't worry NavyDave, the GOP is isolating the moderates and pandering to the extremists. It's great for mobilizing the base and getting people to vote in elections when the economy is ****, but courting the extremists is going to come back to bite the GOP once the economy improves.

You don't happen to know the justification the Fed is using for the QE2 do you?

I wouldn't count on the Calvary arriving

[spelling Nazi]Cavalry. Calvary is something very different. :ols:[/spelling Nazi]

Anyway, now I'm curious. How do you think QE2 ties into energizing the GOP base? (Other than perhaps stirring up the Ron Paul Republicans who want to get rid of the Fed, that is.)
