these refs can all go drink bleach.

AWFUL officiating. I never complain about officiating but dear God

Having watched the highlights last night I counted FOUR stonewall penaltys Arsenal should of had and Hulls second goal was a complete joke with them taking the free kick a full 8 yards further forward from where it should of been.

That said, it was never a corner that lead to Arsenals equaliser so that was a massive decision in your favour. Just ironic how that was the only thing Bruce mentioned after. Knobs learnt well from Ferguson.

But with all the above, Giroud hitting the bar and the clearances off the line both ends, heck knows how the final score was so close and not 6 or 7 -3 in Arsenals favour. A LOT more one sided than the final scoreline suggested.

Oh, and not having the plaudits on Cazoles free kick. That was abysmal 'keeping. You should NEVER get beat the side you're stood like that. It went straight through him.

Hail.

Well crap.....

Our season came to an end last night.....

Awww man. Genuinely gutted for the boys. Your updates have been so compelling man I was sincerely pulling for them to taste glory for all their efforts. Great season regardless though as you say, of which they'll all rightly be proud once the disappointment wears off. And a great individual season from your kid through which he's made tremendous individual strides. Sounds like there was little he could of done last night. It's an old adage but still a true one that a 'keepers only as good as the defense in front of him. And the more shots you allow at goal, the higher the chances of more of them going in.

Here's to him making the HSJV squad and we'll look forward to reading about his exploits next year when God willing the boys go one step further.

Hail.

Slightly harsh but basically correct. The keeper took a step to his right anticipating the kick would be to that side - you should never do that but it's really hard to stop yourself. That said even had he stood still it was still a very well placed free kick and I wouldn't say it went straight through him - he'd be disappointed though no doubt.

Thank you so much! It is bitter sweet, but I'm choosing to keep things in perspective. It crushed me to see the boys coming off the field after their last post-game team meeting with tears in their eyes. My son didn't let his emotions show until he went to bed, the only thing he told me was that he "just didn't want it to be over." This was his first experience with a real team that he worked, trained and played together nearly every day for three months. They bonded and I know it was as much the competition on the field as it was the comeraderie that drew them together so tightly. Truly a season we will remember with fondness as soon as the sting fades. I simply couldn't be more proud of my son, I watched him grow in ability and confidence, saw him make amazing stops and learn from his mistakes. It is hard for me to remember that he's only 12 and he was playing with and against players 13, 14, and even 15 years old.

These next few years are going to be a lot of fun.

All the best to Milan tonight for the final Europa League slot.

Need a few other results to go, like Parma not winning at home to an already relegated team; but to qualify for Europe from looking like a relegation battle when Seedoef took the reigns would be an awesome achievement.

I shall be watching in hope regardless.

Have I mentioned I have a major thing for Milan? Special, special football club. (Not THIS again groan the readers ..... ).

Micah Richards on the market.

If his knees check out, at 25 I'd snap him up in a heartbeat. Might just be the kickstart he needs to reignite a real promising career that's gone flat the last few years.

Hail.

Can he play left back or would we move Flanno?

Right footed. Competent right back but a more classy ball playing centre half. Apparently we're after the Atletico left back but I wouldn't pay 15 million for a guy in his late 20's.

The arrogance at City is astounding. Lescott, Milner, Rodwell, Richards, Sinclair et all are all available ..... It's like they don't care on the UEFA sanctions at all.

They'll have no homegrown players left before they've finished.

So is he available (as in no transfer fee) or would we have to pay city?

And I agree, there new approach is laughable.

Well he's in the last year of his contract so he should be available for a reasonable price. His knees would have to check out fully with the specialist like but he was a real promising, quality English defender up until his career stalling the last year or two. Just my opinion but I'd be ALL over this if I was BR.

Mores the pity we ridiculously haggled over a million and lost out on Cahill to Chelsea as a potential of Flano, Cahill, Richards and Wisdom is a solid looking home grown backline for a good few years. Interspace that with even better foreign talent and even Mingolet might not look as bad lol.

I'd take Milner in less than a heartbeat

Certainly a far better Englishman out wide than Ashley Young .....

I've really started to get into Milan as well through the magic of YouTube. What a great club and great history. I just bought a Ballotelli jersey the other day.

I'm really mad at myself for waiting so long to get into football outside of the PL

And does this "thing" for Milan have to do with their affinity for blowing leads in CL finals? Lol

Agreed. I always thought he was playing out of position at right back as well - think he will develop better at centre half.

Good man and GREAT choice of club. But don't be expecting immediate success in the foreseeable. Milan let their last great side grow a little too old together and are now having to do a complete rebuild without top end money so it's taking time. But if Berlusconi doesn't panic from his prison cell and sell Super Mario, or sack Seedorf who's totally steeped in the Rossoneri's history and knows exactly what the club demands; then it will turn again.

As to the bolded part and my love affair .....

It really started on the Wednesday evening 4 days after the worst day of my life in Sheffield at the Hillsborough disaster. Back in the days when live football on the TV was a rarity and a live Sunday game was a MASSIVE event, their used to be a brilliant BBC midweek show called 'Sportsnight' that would round up all the key midweek sports, particularly footie with key games and highlights. Well that Wednesday Sacchi's great Milan side of the three majestic Dutchmen where playing Madrid in the European Cup semi, and I was stunned and totally blown away when 6 minutes into the game, the exact time the game in Sheffield had been stopped, the players all stopped playing and there was a minutes applause followed by 'You'll Never Walk Alone' in broken English. To see and hear that in Northern Italy from a club we had no connection with at the time was awesome and a real lift to ones spirits that were at rock bottom as you can well imagine:

And I've been a big follower ever since. The two European Cup finals in '05 and '07 just cemented the friendship we share (Milan fans consider Liverpool their English club) as we had a brilliant time with the Italians in Istanbul and Athens:

I also love the fact that theirs no raacism. bigotry or political bias from the supporters. In most all Italian clubs, the facism and racism is beyond sickening. But the Milanese clubs stand apart from that. And  the amount of players that have played for both clubs is unreal. Something you would NEVER get in Rome for example without a major riot. Throw in the fact Marco Van Basten is my favourite all time non-Liverpool player, and there you have it.

Liverpool, Milan and Rangers.

And just because for ALL football lovers out there, here's the highlights of that European semi back in '89 when Arrigo Sacchi's great side destroyed Real Madrid 5-0 in one of the finest displays ever including a bullet from Van Basten:

I'm very surprised they are letting Milner go - quality player who can play on either flank and gives a really consistent level of performance week in week out. Ex Leeds trainee and made his debut in the Premier League with Leeds. Very good pick up for someone.
