kiingspadee
http://www.nesn.com/2010/03/report-new-york-giants-could-offer-julius-peppers-100-million.html Report: New York Giants Could Offer Julius Peppers $100 Million Julius Peppers may have found a team willing to meet his huge asking price. According to media reports, the Giants could offer the defensive end a $100 million deal. On WFAN's Boomer and Carton show Wednesday morning, Craig Carton confirmed that he had inside information that the Giants have prepared an offer similar to Albert Haynesworth's seven-year, $100 million agreement with the Washington Redskins. Peppers will leave the Carolina Panthers as a free agent after declining their offer of about $14 million a year. The 30-year-old has expressed a willingness to play in a 3-4 defense and would be open to moving from defensive end to outside linebacker. If the Giants signed Peppers, they could move to a 3-4 scheme. Six to eight teams are rumored to have interest in signing the defensive end, including the Redskins, Patriots and Bears. Peppers has 81 career sacks in eight seasons. With his strong 2009 season in which he posted 10 1/2 sacks, the five-time Pro Bowler may get the big contract he wants. The bidding war begins Friday at 12:01 a.m.
terrifNick21
Well, they paid over 100 million for a decent at best QB, so I wouldn't be shocked by this.

bushwack
If they sign him to a contract like Haynesworth they'll be deemed geniuses, but last year the Skins were deemed idiots once again for signing the most dominant DT in the game to a big contract.
DCdangerous
As much as Haslett is enamored by Peppers, I truly believe that Peppers won't come here. If NYG will $100M, then WE would have to pay more. And who would want TWO AGING $100M players on one team?!
vigilante
$100 million for a 30 year old player? I can understand if he was 25-27, but at best, he's only going to be playing for 4 more seasons in which he's most likely to decline.

jsco1112
Had to comment on this. I listen to this radio station every day. Carton is an idiot. He could possibly have some info, but I HIGHLY DOUBT IT. He was probably just running his mouth and someone is trying to make it an actual story.

kiingspadee
Any of you who would be happy to have him NY I need to ask you - do you think he's fallen off THAT MUCH? When I saw him play this year he seemed still beastly
WSHRedskins3ATLBraves3
You want to play him twice a year? Some people on this site.... I want the giants to abandon their ways of being smart in free agency and give $100 mil. to an aging former star that wants to collect his paycheck. He already has a history of taking plays off, so what better way would there be for the giants to cripple their payroll?
