OVCChairman
I didn't know Comcast owned VS. yep... Comcast wanted to charge something like double what they had been previously charging which apparently didnt make sense to DirecTV. I was hearing bits and pieces about it on the radio over the last few weeks leading up to the day they halted carrying it. It kind of irritates me because i have DirecTV... Obviously this has nothing to do with the fact that only DTV has Sunday Ticket...
MattFancy
Caps/Bruins game posted a 0.3 rating. Tied for 1,674th place on cable. When will the NHL go back to ESPN?

Yeah, there is spin from both companies but from everything I can gather it seems Comcast wanted to up the price substantially so DirecTV said "Okay, you can do that but we're going to throw your ****ty channel on the sports pack so we'll be paying for less subscribers." Comcast didn't like that apparently so they just yanked the feed right off. Comcast pissed me off further because they yanked the HD feed of the channel off like 3 days early. Sticksboi05
The NHL needs to go back to ESPN. Simple as that. They can take all those dull basketball games off.

I'm all for the NBA but outside of a few of the top teams the games are mostly boring with bad basketball being played. The playoffs in the NBA are great but for regular season I really miss National Hockey Night.

Sadly WSOP has (or had) high ratings than the NHL did when it was on ESPN. Not sure if that would be the case now with Ovechkin, Crosby, etc. in the league. Don't mind NBA games but for the LOVE OF GOD please stop with the WNBA. WNBA's slow mo lap up fest needs to be on ESPN 8 the Ocho.

Not sure if that would be the case now with Ovechkin, Crosby, etc. in the league. I doubt that would happen now. I think the NHL is pretty much back. Just needs to be seen by more than a couple hundred thousand people every night.
ixcuincle
Get rid of MLS, keep EPL, and bring NHL back on ESPN for max exposure Kind of disappointing after last season had the highest ratings in history for Versus during the Stanley Cup Finals

WNBA comes with the NBA contract - it's a package deal unfortunately. NBA pays ESPN/ABC to broadcast the games.

Heisenberg
Oh how I hope some STHs cancel next season otherwise I'm SOL (unless there are new partial plans) :fingersx: I'm sure some will - you'll probably have to call early and often to try to get any though. Stadium-Armory
FYI, for you out of towners who have directv. Looks like we don't get Versus any more due to a spat between dtv and comcast. If you call to complain, they will offer you the NHL center ice package at 1/2 price. Its normally $160, but they'll give it to you for $80. ACW
If I had DRV, I wouldn't care. What's the point of watching other teams if you can't watch your own?

If you're referring to my comment. The point is that you can watch all the other Caps games going forward for the rest of the season.
